Ok with great fear and trembling I am going to post in this thread. I want to learn but I will acknowledge two things 1) I don't like pocket squares too much. I find them uncomfortable and kind of annoying :( . M aybe that will change one day. 2) I don't have a huge shirt and tie wardrobe.
I have found this thread to be very helpful and excellent resource to learn and gather some inspiration. Thanks everyone!

Here we go...

I'm feeling that something with green in it would look better in the breast pocket. Also a little more haphazard folding.

DOUGGIEEEEE!!!!!

great to see you posting fit pics. i think the pattern on the ps and tie are too close in size, but outside of that i like it a lot.

also, you look deceptively thin :poke:

Dougie, I like your look, the pocketsquare is rather awful though and I would consider a different type of shirt collar.

Citan, the two pics with the ties, the first one is not that nice looking and the second one could work but it depends on the true color of the tie/suit, hard to tel in the pic.

Not the best picture but do you think this outfit (from last week) is in good taste for an evening wedding? I have another one tomorrow and might repeat... how about throwing in a pale pink/blue shirt?

I think this works pretty well

An evening wedding is one of the few times I would probably wear a white shirt

All depends on how formal the wedding is. For more informal weddings I would think about ditching the classic wedding tie for something is shantung

Not a huge fan of white braces with suits (or in fact of braces generally), but they should never be seen in any case

I chose white braces so they would be more discreet... I'm no fan of showing them either, but we were at 103ºF and I needed some air circulating through my armpits

I don't think the wedding is going to be very formal, but who knows. I wasn't expecting many suits at the last one and I was completely wrong. In any case, I don't have any shantung ties, and maybe a print would be too informal?

Complaints about the quality of my pics will be ignored. I urge chavs, fops, bottom feeders and n00bs to think carefully before you post in this thread. If you are wondering whether something is in good taste, it probably isn't. I encourage nay, foo, matt, dopey, gdl, vox (he is missed), concordia, t4, parker, will, baron, edmorel and some others whose names aren't occurring to me at the moment to comment with directness but without rancor. of course, there will be little need to say anything about my combos because they will always be impeccable.

ROT- I like both of the looks you posted. The brown tie looks especially good and reminds me I need to add a brown tie to my want list.
