Thanks, lufty. I have seen people wear different scale POW/GP tie and SC, and i liked some of them. Thought i would give it a try with houndstooth. I know its a bit much, but i like it.

It looks pleasant and comfortable. The plaids and the wine red colours do fine together. I am not sure, how Manton feels about the grey odd jacket smile.gif, but some of us like it.

^ Thanks. Generally what I wear is more staid and I think straight down the fairway--I don't generally don't post pics for that reason. This is a step outside for me. Give me some more thoughts on it, Manton.

The only individual pieces that I like are the vest and the hankie. The coat is one of those Italian mass market luxe nether fabrics, too busy to be a suiting, not bold or distinct enough to be a good jacket.. Large scale but fuzzed out and overdone. The shirt is the dreaded white ground with a check that shows too much ground. Tie is just ugly both in pattern and color. Certainly the tie and the vest should not both be in the red family, but orangy-rust + wine really doesn't work.

Altoghether it's a mishmash

Stitchy - is that a white shirt + sport coat combo again? These are rarely, if really ever, a good idea. Stick to blue shirts, stripes and checks with sport coats and keep your white shirts for suits.

In addtion, the pattern of the tie is too close to that of the coat. Plus, that's a very forma tie that really belongs with suits, or blazers at the outside.

Thanks for your thoughts. My only quibble is tie and vest - don't believe the colors are showing up correct.
