I can't remember if it was this thread or another, but I said that I had a sportcoat in the works that was patterned and at least some linen. It turns out it's not the 100% pattern linen that Manton hates so much, but a cashmere/linen/silk blend. And I think it came out very well. My new favorite SC, although I may have scant few days left to wear it before being put away for winter:

Unbelragazzo, I love everything about that sportcoat - the pattern, the colours, button stance, lapels... Very nice. Congrats!

May I give it a try today? (please spoiler or delete if it's in horrible taste).

Coat = wool/cashmere blend, shirt = cotton, tie = wool, PS = silk

You've got a little but of a high wire act with all the patterns. I think a change of shirt to a smaller pattern would improve things. But I like the other items together, especially texture-wise. That your new Rubi PS?

Thanks. Yeah, maybe it's too busy. I was about to choose a solid blue shirt this morning, but it's been a long time since I last wore a checkered shirt, and decided to give this new one a go...

The PS is my new Rubinacci indeed! I still feel guilty for spending so much on a square, but it's a really nice piece of silk

Is it a suit you're wearing, RD? The fabric def looks like suiting to me. I would save that shirt for sport coats.
