There's a saying in French : "Il n'y a que les imbéciles qui ne changent pas d'avis" (only idiots never change their mind)

(and a famous quote of Jacques Chirac, who added "c'est ce que j'ai toujours dit" (I've always said that) )

I don't see anything wrong with shantung+worsted, but the only shantungs I like are solids.

I commented on it in gdl's thread when he posted it. I think with fresco it's nice - fresco has more texture than the kind of worsted ROT wore in the first pic.

Cross-post from CBD thread. May be too dull to be considered truly good taste - but today calls for UCBD

Not dull, fantastic.

Just enough interest in the shirt. Nice.

Thank you very much - that's what I was hoping to do with it. The shirt is a royal oxford alumo cloth, made up by Sean O'Flynn

Navy DB, light blue BB OCBD, navy silk textured weave tie.

I suspect some will not be down with the stripes of the suiting. But, I think it's still tasteful.

I always take a pass on this sort of fabric because even though it looks nice, I feel like it would require my brain to do somersaults in order to arrive at combinations I would be fully comfortable with. So basically I'm too chicken to select fabrics like this but I applaud you for being daring. As for this specific combo, there's nothing specific I can point to, it's just not completely harmonious. How's that for a useless critique smile.gif

The tie is atrocious. The shirt could do with a wider spread collar. Finally, did you tear up toilet tissue and stuff it into your breast pocket(?)
