n.b., as this will probably cause dissent: this is a SC, not a suit. it may look like suiting in the pic, but it's a cotton blend that works easily as an odd jacket once you see it IRL IMHO. it''s possible it could be a suit too, but it doesn't look out of place as an odd jacket, and was intended as such by its maker. medium grey trousers below.

I like this. Good tonal colours. I would prefer it as a suit, but it's still nice as a jacket. Lilac shirt linen or cotton?

It's a really interesting thread but ( if you'll forgive me sticking my oar in) it needs curating. Be brutal. Cut the stuff that's not up to the mark - it's your thread and yours is the only opinion as to what's good enough/useful enough to be retained.

No need to delete the eyesores (and there are a truckload of them); spoiler-code them - very quick and easy to do with the button - and then if Manton/anyone also wants to give constructive advice to the poster so they can post more in keeping with the specific theme of the thread, they can.

It's win-win: not heavy-handed at all, the poster still gets constructive advice, and the thread itself remains pleasant to browse to those just wanting a look-book (which I must admit is my main reason for coming into this thread as I don't really dress to its theme, but still like the style quite a lot in an abstract way).

This thread no longer holds any real intrigue for me. It's just a giant cross-postfest from the other WAYW threads. Manton, the first few pages of this were legendary and it has dissolved into requests for approval. I don't need to see the same freaking post from a few guys across three threads. Make this thread sing again, and start cracking the whip.

I meant to write this earlier, not sure why the heck I thought of Spoo now (uhoh.gif) but I think if you take a look at his recent stuff, particularly the suits, I think you'll say that it's in good taste, if not to your taste. He likes a slimmer, more "power" fit than what we do and he is more Tom Ford than Fred Astaire but I would disagree with anyone who says he has bad taste. Yes, his taste in shoes is more suspect than Bernie Madoff working in Fort Knox but he's a young guy. I think his bouts of "flash" are what turn the old timers off to him but I think he's improved a lot.

I assume you thought of him while in the shower before bed.

Not that it matters, i agree with your assesment.

I think his stuff fits well, but like Manton I think most of his looks have an element that is just off.

Spoo's suits are very well done. He's just a little color blind.
