Why would a knowledgeable poster waste his time commenting on something so fundamentally flawed that the simplest solution would be to start over? There has to be some minimum standard otherwise this thread will devolve into all the other failed threads.
The successful ensembles give examples to emulate. The majority of work is still on the student. There is a lot of work the student has to do on this own - reading, looking for patterns in success and failures, and practice. The constant process of self-assessment and practice is what learning is all about.

i think i can be on board with this. i hopes my more recent fits fit the bill.

No bitching about not being named. It's not personal, and there are plenty of other threads to post fits in if you want to be seen and get feedback.
If your fits meet Manton's approval consistently, he can elevate you to full permission status. All are encouraged to comment and critique heavily on anyone's fit.

id rather see posts axed, than put a cap on who can and who cannot post in the thread. just my opinion.

Re: what do to with this thread, I am open to whatever.

Exactly why I find it difficult to even think about dressing up in the Summer. I guess you and many others have to for work, but I only wear a sportcoat about 10 times a Summer. After all, comfort is everything!

It's possible this is better, but it involves more work for Manton.

Lufty - Can't see the square - if it is a white base the that is a miss IMO. Shirt, tie, suit is quite nice. I think Manton has a bottle green rep like that so I think you're safe.

Sky blue.

Lufty, I like your fit.

As for thread moderation, I suggest spoilering non-compliant pictures with a quick note added to explain why. The explanation can be as simple as "NOOOOOO!!!" as Manton demonstrated a bit upthread. Manton could nominate a couple of DHs to help if he doesn't want to shoulder the load by himself.

So um, kinda afraid to post in this thread after reading the last few pages and the frustration of poor pictures and poor ensembles. So hopefully I am contributing something worthwhile...please let me know if not and I will moderate myself.

Well, I don't like the jacket but that aside, the white shirt with that really doesn't work. Blue, please or pink.

I could swear there was a recent post by Baron ITT that was awesome. Has it been DHed?

I'm just guessing, given what I know of your proclivities, that you are looking for this post by Burton?

If not, sorry, please disregard.

My fall/winter outfits are in considerably better taste, but I don't find dressing in summer particularly hard. I just am not aiming for the same goal when dressing in the summer. I like to add a little extra color in one item. Generally, my skin tone works well with spring/summer colors, and I enjoy taking advantage of it. It's maybe a pastel colored pocket square or light colored pants or a more vibrant sport coat. It's never over the top or gaudy, but it's also not in the realm of good taste. It's just fun for me.

My suggestion for this thread is to make it for posts that fall close within the boundaries of Manton's opinion of good taste only. The replies would be a Yes/No with a simple one line comment (i.e. change the shirt, like the shoes, etc.) by Manton or anyone he anoints to cover for him. If, in his opinion, a look is too far off, he simply deletes it without comment. That way the thread is about fine tuning and not makeovers. Hopefully this will create an edited look and less work.

This is a good solution, but again requires a lot of work out of Manton.

the reasons I have not been more agressive about deleting stuff is, first, the desire not to be or be thought of as a tyrant and second so that we can all critique bad things and learn from that. Nobody, not even the poster, really learns much if a pic just gets disappeared without comment.
