I like that kind of incorporation too, but my only problem with clap's fit is that the top is totally cool, the bottom is totally warm. A warmer tie up top would have "tied" (pun) it all together for me.

I seem to remember a discussion regarding the general aversion to orange ties from a while back in this thread. Much like there are nice hues of purple ties that can be incorporated into a tasteful outfit I feel this orange tie presents a great case for that color. Dissenters?

im just surprised no one jumped on you for wearing a white shirt an a SC. i guess doc has changed a few minds around here.

i dont think everyone agrees to that. at least not at all points in this thread. i am quire certain some people (i think maybe gdl amongst others) pretty much feel that white shirts are for suits only. i dont feel that way personally, but i think i am remembering right.

I think the point is that a blazer can be used for both city and country looks depending on the accesories. If you use city accesories, a white shirt would be fine.

white shirts are OK with blazers, better if BD. I am not a fan of white with any other jacket, except perhaps a gray or B&W harris or donegal.

I had a thing for white OCBD for a little while. I honestly don't drag them out much anymore. I think they kind of wash out with all the browns I wear.

I guess it depends on the rest of the ensemble. With a blazer and a grey or lighter blue tie, I think a white shirt would in fact be optimal.

I like orange ties on the rusty end of the spectrum
