I'll happily to defer to others if this is a successful execution of what someone called the "Old English Guy on a Saturday" look since I haven't seen one in the flesh since 1998. But, I wonder whether this might be an example of the whole not quite equaling the sum of the parts.
I understand that the tie is functionally a solid and works with the shirt. And, it would work with the jacket.
But the three together, i.e. that tie with that shirt and that jacket - well, it seems a little jarring to me. Perhaps I simply don't appreciate the "look" as executed.
The blue overcheck is a problem for me (picks up on part of the square, which picks up on the tie, but the tie/coat don't quite click), and I'm not in love with the herringbone of the tie.
