2) Navy suit - white shirt - purple tie gives off a distinct David Cameron vibe. I think DC is a fine dresser so I don't have a hug problem with it. Tie is too bright to wear myself but I'm me...
3) I like blue ties.

thanks for the feedback, guys.

lol big C, that tie in pic #1 is RLPL. they do a lot of purple, durr, sometimes maybe unnecessarily and certainly unconventionally, but i like it.

no idea who DC is, will google tonight. hopefully he is hawt.

thanks! i think #3 is my fave of the set.

more purple next week. dots and checks oh my!

David Cameron is the PM of England.

Fascinating! Maybe I will do a switch and steal his job.

I think I'd like #1 alright if it were a kind of purple over check, but alternating between black and purple makes for too much purple. Of course no purple at all better still.

I've got no problem with houndstooth for non-country ties though. Houndstooth wedding ties seem to be well accepted.

Well, I guess I understand that, but its really barely noticiable at a few feet out.

Also, I have more than enough standard houndstooth ties to make room for one with some purple. smile.gif

barf. there is nothing more depressing in the world than following the news. i dont think i have ever read a news article, or watched a news show, and nor regretted it within seconds.

While I get the sentiment, there is plenty of interesting or even good news out there that's not terribly hard to find. Besides, being an informed member of the public is a classic requirement for being in good taste.

maybe. i get the news i need parenthetically.

The purple/black grenadine weaves that Hober sells are fantastic.

One hand, dark and sober and soporific. But when the light catches it and the purple comes out, it looks fantastic and full of life. A really top notch purple tie.

Here are 3 recent examples from fits I posted. I think they are pretty cohesive, and I was wondering if the simple fact that purple is being used is a disqualifier?
