Suits as well as odd jackets? The sole DB I have is an odd jacket with only one buttonhole. I will not lose any sleep over it, but it interests me all the same.

Hmm. I dunno, seems to me DB should have two, whether a jacket or suit, but I don't think having only one makes a material difference.

So... this is from when I first joined the forum. Maybe the first 6 months or so. Be warned... :uhoh:

You're a good sport for posting those. :)

I have a lot of f*ck ups from early on that I wish had never happened, too. In almost each case, I blame over-enthusiasm.

+1. I just looked thru some old photos of mine and, sheeesh, there are some bad combos. I always thought I knew what I was doing, but realized I've learned a lot from the forum over the years. thanks to all who contribute. and threads like these help immensely. and yeah, I agree that over-enthusiasm can really get you into trouble. :)

I really dig that suit, P. The shirt and tie work, too--though I think that the white shirt creates such a contrast against the suit, it really limits what you can do with the tie and square, and also ups the formality level significantly (maybe that's what you were aiming for).

I would change the square. As I've parroted over and over again: I really hate the white square and white shirt combination. It just cuts too sharp and forces other elements into alienation. But if you are going to do a white square, it needs to be super sharp and crisp. This one seems a bit floppy and unruly.

Yeah, I expected you to comment on the white and white shirt/square combo. You're right about the limitations of the white shirt. I really like light blue shirts with ties that have green in them with this color gray.

Booth, looks good, I agree with foo about the floppiness of the square, but not about the white + white combo.

Yeah, I winced when I saw the floppy square pic. It was done in haste in preparation to go out to dinner.

I like a white square to be a little nonchalant like that, but I'd probably tuck it in tad farther. I think that getup is pretty good, but for daytime I'd probably prefer a light blue shirt.

I'm not sure one can complain about the heat while opting to wear a DB suit...

Is it the suit, or have you bespoken more than one?
It looks great from the chest up. ;)

No, it is not the infamous one. It preceded it in delivery, but not in conception. The button placement is correct on it. All my DBs from now on will be 4x1.

Well, if you're going to wear a jacket to begin with, I don't think SB versus DB makes much of a difference.
