For me, there are two.

1) Fred Astaire pinning a button down collar

2) Cary Grant wearing a BD shirt with french cuffs.

Please don't spam this thread with pious claims that "I have no sartorial hero."

Ed Morel wearing black gunboats with khakis. crazy.gif

In all seriousness, I'd rate Prince Michael of Kent as my sartorial hero. But even I can't forgive his notch lapel tuxedo. I'll try and find a pic.

When he said that, I had this vision of seeing him on the street and my first thought was "That poor man has no idea how to dress," then I would recognize him and think "Oh dear God, he does know, what the hell is he doing?"

Just be happy you are his hero.

I wish I had a hero to say the worst thing I have seen him do.

Maybe voxs big furry hogwarts coat.

I had a professor who did that. He committed suicide some years later.
I wonder if there was a connection.

His DB shawl one is great.

I am coming around to notch lapel dinner suits, its a slightly more informal variant from when men used to have several dinner suits. A few other royals tend to wear them as well. I think they were quite in around the the late 50s early 60s.
