Longer Swim Trunk Reccomendations

post #1 of 6

I'm looking for some stylish swim trunks that are longer (at or just above the knee) - so far Orlebar Brown Dane's seem like the nicest - but the $240 price tag is hard to swallow - any other suggestions?

The Bonobos swim trunks and Lands ends swim trunks are actually very similar to the OB's. I have a bunch of OB's and the Lands ends canvas ones are basically knock-offs, at least for the shorter lengths:

Lands end:
OB knock-offs: http://canvas.landsend.com/pp/mens-5-clean-board-shorts~237553_-1.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::YE7&CM_MERCH=IDX_men-_-pants-shorts&origin=index

The longer length ones are board type shorts, super cheap right now:

Outlier also makes great trunks:

Onia is also okay but the fabric tends to be lighter weight than the above brands making it less streamlined (they bunch when I do flip turns).

Big fan of Olasul trunks - priced like Sundek or Parke & Ronen, but the quality is similar to Orlebar Brown.

Thanks for the suggestions - I actually stumbled across this one which I really liked - it's from a company called Onia that makes swim trunks tailored like chino shorts - similar to OB at half the price

Some nice looking suits here, but when I'm at the beach, I'm in the water quite a bit - so I can't imagine wearing a cotton or cotton/blend swim suit. Is that pretty standard for most people here?
