I could send it to them, and try for the last 15 bucks just to screw him, but it is not really worth the shipping cost to do that. Either way, He is out $38 and has no vintage suit to show for it. I actually made a very small profit. He should have taken the return with the $4.54 restocking fee, but hey...if he wants to learn the hard way, I am happy to teach him.

Just out of curiosity, I googled the buyers name to see who I was dealing with. Turns out he is a 50 year old dude in NY. He has a trademark on record for some recording equipment, which is yet to be developed. I had the opportunity to leave the first review, but I decided not to at this time.

I was thinking maybe something like this.

"The product is not what I expected. It is not worth the expense I paid or the time I spent. I get better recording results from my vintage equipment at home."

If this is the case, I suggest folks set up a free Google Voice number. You can get that forwarded to your cell (or any other phone) and you can screen and/or block callers via the web interface.

Just go on customer support and write in managing bidders, then cancelling a bid. You can cancel the guys bid from there. After that go back on managing bidders and put bidders over say 5-10 feedback then he wont be able to rebid! 

I'm having trouble finding where I can specific not to accept bids with feedback lower then 5-10...I did find how to cancel the bid and block that specific member from contacting me or bidding again.  But being able to specify a certain feedback rating would be stellar!

Oh, I missed the 5 or 10 part. Yeah, you can't block them.

Another note for APO addresses, delivery confirmation does not seem to work for them, so be carefull. Has anyone else encountered this? I sent a pair of shells a few months ago that are still marked as undelivered. The buyer never left feedback, but I assume he got them since I never heard anything. Or maybe he is out on active duty or something.

No issue shipping to either county IMO. This has been talked about at length in this thread, but use USPS 1st class registered mail and if you are worried about damage make sure to add some insurance to cover the cost of the item. Registered mail is the SAFEST way to ship items both domestically and internationally. It is the cost of 1st class mail + $12 for the registered portion. Well worth it! Just make sure to charge enough so you are not losing money on shipping. It also takes a few extra minutes at the post office (you need to go in and do it, can't do it online) as you need to tape up the box with special brown glue tape and they stamp the edges. WARNING: Do not put the item in a poly bag, make sure it is in a box or manilla envelope as the glue based taped will not stick to the plastic poly bag.

The issue with shipping to APO address is that the item goes though the APO base "mail center". There have been a number of scams where items are "lost" once they hit the base and you do not get your tracking info updated online as delivered. They know if there is no proof online then no proof it was delivered and BAM item not received case is opened and who knows what really happened to the item...

See above, but this is what happens. If the guy buying the shoes was dishonest he could open an item not received case and win, no questions asked. ALSO, just image (hypothetical) if he bought $200 shell shoes, gave the mail center guy $100 for not scanning them and then gets his $200 back though paypal. It's a win win for both guys and the seller is screwed.

I made an offer on a pair of shoes and the seller accepted. At the time of my offer, the default shipping address was to South Korea. The shoes were to be a gift, however, sent to my father in the US. At the payment screen (just before you get taken to Paypal), I tried to change the address to my father's (to which I've shipped a number of items); the website told me I needed to request a total from the seller, which I did. That was about 10 days ago. I've requested a total again and also PMed the seller and gotten nothing in response. He's gone totally silent.

Any idea why a seller would be fine shipping international but not want to ship domestically (he's located in the US).

I just scanned the most recent two pages (where Capnwes and VSLI were having a back and forth). My apologies Brianpore. I would seriously love to hear a seller's thoughts on this.

But if I had to choose any one seller to listen to, it would be Brianpore. ^_^

The seller needs to send the item to either the address provided by ebay or paypal in order to be covered by "seller protection" - whatever that is-  If he sees that you wanted to change your shipment address, from the original he may be apprehensive about making the change for fear of losing his "protection". He might not realize the address is different in paypal, or might not realize he can ship to that address as well and still be covered.

Or he may be in the hospital or on vacation. Try looking at his feedback/feedback left for others, or sold items/newly listed items to see if he has been active in the last 10 days. 

So this morning the Samuelsohn suit buyer opened a SNAD. How a restocking fee issue makes the item not as described I'm not sure, but there you go.

I talked to eBay at lunchtime and the customer service rep said that since it's there in the description the restocking fee is valid, even though I didn't have it in the return policy section (which I've fixed in my auction template going forward). Unfortunately I had to respond to his case first and can't escalate to the eBay customer service reps for a week, but she did indicate that it's pretty clear. 

I forgot to ask about the final value fees that he denied by refusing to cancel the transaction, so I called back and they did it immediately. 

Altogether a much more pleasant experience than I expected, so now we'll see if this guy sees the light or if eBay has to step in. 

Where's the ebay black list again? I need to add this guy and wes needs to add his.
