Just communicate with the buyer...or add a revision if it will let you...but just because the auction ends on Sunday doesn't mean you will get paid on Sunday. I usually have at least one or two buyers that pay a few days later.

I messed up and underestimated just how long I will be able to deliver on an item that I currently have up for auction. It is set to end on Sunday, and I set it for 2 business days handling time. I am new to this and really feel like an idiot for not being more careful with this. Now I am unsure of what to do. The item will sell. While there is still a chance I will be able to ship within the time I committed to, what should I expect to happen if I can not ship within the 2 business days window that I have?

The absolute latest I will be able to ship will be at most 3 business days after the auction ends - How big of a problem is this for me as a seller, and what are my options?
Ebay bans you if you dont ship within 2 days... better work on that.

I kid, it really does not matter at all. The ONLY time it makes a difference is if the buyer complains (95% dont even pay attention to the handling time as long as you ship within a few days) OR if you are a top rated seller and miss the shipping deadline A LOT it can hinder your top rated seller status. If you are really really worried about it, just print the label the end of the 2nd day and drop it off on the 3rd, but really not a big deal at all, I wouldnt even mention it.

I'm guessing there is something that will keep you away from the computer, and/or unable to package it for shipping. But if it's just a matter of getting to the post office, and you can pack it and have it ready, then you can purchase postage thru eBay (at a discount), as well as schedule USPS to come pick it up at your home or business by next business day (if you schedule it before 1am local time I believe is the cut-off time). However, if your situation is different and you cannot pack it, print a label at home, and/or schedule USPS pickup, then yes - ditto what others have said - it will in all likelihood not make a whit of difference to the buyer if it takes you an extra day. You can cover your tracks a bit and purchase & print the postage from usps.com on the 2nd day and not ship until the 3rd day - this way it appears to the buyer that it has been shipped and any delay would be the fault of the USPS, not you. I wouldn't sweat it tho.

1. I think so, but hard to tell for sure. That's not a standard color for AE shell, but they could be faded burgundy or special ordered. 80% sure yes they are shell. Do they have a dovetail heel?

2. You mean the color oxblood, right? Then yeah, I guess so - don't think there's a technical definition fo the color.

Got another mention on the PTO eBay Roundup - 2nd one evah - very nice to get since it's been so slow and I just listed a lot of goods last night.
Of course, Spoo would be surprised if he didn't get a mention...and I'm surprised & delighted when I do.

Is there some kind of seller scam I'm not aware of? Lately I've been buying a few shirts .. I've run into 2 where it's advertised new with tags, guaranteed, etc. Shirt arrives and it's worn and stained like crazy and of course no tags. I open a dispute and eventually it gets resolved, but why would you go through this? Both sellers have good feedback too ..

I don't know if I'd term it "scam," but it's certainly the abuse of the "new, without tags" listing. It's pretty common. I think to a lot of less-than-great sellers, new, without tags sounds so much better and list it as such. Continue to call them out on it, and as far as I'm concerned, leave feedback that reflects the purchase. I sell things that I literally bought and removed the tags and it obviously hurts that image.

Neg feedback them. If there is no tags and it isn't new, then it obviously has been misrepresented. There's mistakes, and then there is misrepresentations.

No scam. Just scum bags lying and misrepresenting what they sell. Just because something looks new does not mean its new. I would ask for them to pay return shipping and get all your money back. I would also leave negative feedback unless it is really a mistake (a new item could possibly have a little mark from someone in a store)

To me this is the lowest of the low almost as bad as selling fakes. I get so mad at this.

PS. this happens a lot with rubber soled shoes because it's hard to see the wear on them.

The white & blue shirt was horrible. At first he wanted me to ship it back then he would refund me the purchase and original shipping. I told him he needs to pay for return shipping b/c he misrepresented it. I did link the pictures to the case too, there's no hiding it. Eventually I got the refund and threw the shirt away.

The blue one is pretty bad too. It's actually more stained than that picture shows .. looked like someone wore it to the gym. I'm more disappointed in the misrepresenting, I just don't understand why people waste time like this. Established sellers should understand - if the buyer has a decent case and all the evidence to support it, you're probably going to lose out on the case.

May 30 I sold a NWOT Robert Talbott made in Italy genuine horse hide belt (I didn't even mention anywhere in the listing that it's made of horse hide although it was pictured on the belt).

Yesterday the buyer opened a case.

"Dear Selleer, I am writing to you in regards to returning this belt. It appears the belt that I received is not as described. The material appears not be horse leather. I trust that you will accept this request for refund. If you can provide me with your address, I will make arrangements to return the product and share with you a tracking number for your reference. Thank you and kind regards"

Of course the belt is a genuine Robert Talbott belt and for some reason he believes it's not real horse hide. I'm no expert on leathers but I trust the belt label embossed on the back.

Should I just refund him or do I have a chance at winning this case if escalated to eBay customer support?

Two shoe questions 1 . Are these shoes shell?
Yes shell. The AE color is cognac http://issuu.com/allenedmonds/docs/spring-1996-catalog
Be very careful using that spreadsheet. There have been at least two or three incorrect AE numbers on that one. Brianpore and I have both been burned. The best bet is to search the back issues of the AE catalogs on issuu.com. I do have a revised version of the shell list that I have been using and updating for about 18 months. I have deleted the incorrect numbers and have also added some that were missing. When I get home I will post it again.
