Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 384

I recently moved from one location to another. I deleted the old address from my entire account, my registered/preferred/etc address are all where I live currently. But my items are still quoting shipping estimates based on my old address. Any idea how to fix that?

When you list items, in the shipping section, you set the origination zip code. Fix it on your next listing to effect future listings and edit current listings.

Don't know if you've done this, but hover over the Account tab, then select the addresses link. Check the ship from addresses.

I've so had to void and reprint labels after I ship one from somewhere else and then forget to switch it back.

Yeah, did that, must be the listings thing.

I enjoy the perks of mine so far.  Much more detailed in terms of providing information regarding whats going on with sales, listings, updates, returns, account in general.

What's the cost/mo of the base level ebay store now? Haven't had one for over two years. And what cash flow would you guys need to justify opening a base level store?

edit:

also, I figure most of you guys aren't gamers, but this is a worthwhile tip. There's a small PC niche/community that still plays NASCAR 2003 Season because the physics/online support/something stopped being replicated past '03. If you can pick this up, it flips pretty easy for $40-60 w/box, drop $10 without. I mention this because I flipped one a year ago back when I was dealing in games, and while checking out at a thrift store earlier this week I glanced through the glass case and spotted it right away. Easy flip, much less work and much easier buyers than clothing.

The box/game is really easy to pick out of a stack (partly because PC games look different from other games cases since they come in boxes and jewel discs).

Have any of you ever called an eBay buyer because of an issue?

I noticed that phone #s are now available for some buyers, and I have a return that is being processed.

THIS IS WHAT THE BUYER WROTE DOWN

"There are buttons missing and the cuff was let out to make the pants an unfinished length 31'. It was not pressed out as it should have been. This or should not be represented as a sellable item in this condition. I expected more from this seller!!!"

Here is the item with pictures. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221239244477

NOTE: Pictures aren't fantastic, this was before I stepped up my game.

It shows both waist buttons clearly intact and not missed.  I don't know what he means by missing buttons unless he is stating the back pocket buttons are missing?? I cannot remember if back pocket buttons were there, as the pictures show them undone.  I make it a point to fasten them now before pictures.

Also clearly shows the cuff perfectly intact on the picutres...wtf is he talking about, unless he took them to a tailor himself to have them lengthened and they fucked it up...

Ebay has me on the hook for return shipping, but I feel that I need to fight this case because it is not true.

I've emailed the buyer to further explain the problems at hand, and am also tempted to call him directly...

FOLLOW UP: After a few recent messages, this buyer apparently mixed up his purchase with me and another seller...he sent me another sellers return, and initiated a return on my sale...So now I have to take this return since it is in the mail, ship it back to this buyer, so that he may be able to return them to the actual seller...at least its better than an unhappy customer.

To give credit on behalf of buyers, this gentleman took the time to call me directly (funny after I asked about it earlier), and sincerely apologize for the mishap.  I spoke to him for nearly 10 minutes, about what had happened, and he was very apologetic about having to put me through this.  I ensured him, I will do my good deed, and return the pair of pants back to him, so that he may follow through with the correct seller.

I decided to create a store to sell my non-consignable stuff and posted one auction as a trial run. I read almost this whole thread to see what key words were used. Built a lighting set up for photos similar to Wes's. Hopefully they are good. If not, not sure how to make them better.

My first thrift shoe purchase were j&m chukkas at goodwill that I bought for $3.40. Cleaned, applied leather lotion and polished..

Posted on a Friday morning at $25 with a BIN of $60. They sold yesterday for $67.

I felt good about this for my first thrift sale, but it makes me wonder why the first guy to bid $60 didn't hit the BIN button and end the auction.?

Is this common for items to go for more than the BIN price?

My other past sales were concert tickets I couldn't use and a couple items that didn't fit after I bought on eBay and I just was getting rid of them.

I've designed a different template using garagesale than the one on this auction that goes live tomorrow. Appreciate constructive feedback.

Listing looks real good, pictures are better than 99% of sellers.  Only thing that I see that I would have added was the color of the shoe into the title.
