Just grasp the armpits and pull it taut.

Ummm, maybe not the best method. the fabric should be laid flat, natural and relaxed, not so much taut.

Great googly moogly! Don't forget a catchy one word descriptor to grab buyers' attention. Some possibilities:

ATROCIOUS

HEINOUS

EYE-RAPING

I have an ebay listing right now that is auction style and buy it now. It has a bid and I just got a message from a buyer saying he'd buy it now if I dropped the BIN price $10. I'd be totally willing to do this, but since there's a bid, I can't change it. If I offer to refund him the $10 instantly is that legal or could that potentially get eBay pissed off at me?

Don't do it. I'm pretty sure would get you in some hot water with Ebay.

It's $10 - just tell him that you're sorry, but you can't do it.

What's the big deal with a partial refund? I'd say go for it.

I would tell him to Buy it now and wait for an invoice.

If you tell him to bid until he is the leading bidder, you can then end listing with option to sell to the highest bidder. Then send the invoice with the shipping adjusted to equal the agreed amount.

Or do the partial refund. There are no rules against that.

So this might be helpful to others in the future. Since I got conflicting responses, I decided to call eBay to make sure. Here's what they said:

Basically, since there is a bid, the seller is not allowed to offer discounts or refunds, per their policy. Obviously, you can and you probably wouldn't get caught, but the lady I spoke with said that's against the rules. Buuuuut, she said that the buyer could buy it now and then I could send an invoice and take off the shipping fee in the invoice.

Obviously this would be for very specific instances where the discount is similar to shipping cost, but it's an option.
