That is one powerful light! Looks good.

lol thanks :D but in a dark basement, even a candle would do the trick if you leave the shutter open long enough

it isn't that powerful, shot that at iso 1000, 1/250 @ f/12

which means if i were to shoot it at native lowest iso, it'd be at f/5.6 or so. i could turn up the flash (it was only at 1/16th power); but why waste time waiting for it to recycle and kill the batteries when I can just crank the iso.

lol, with the stuff you do for your ebay store; what i just said shouldn't matter to you :)

i posted that setup pic as an example that the setup doesn't need to be fancy with an obscene number of lights. I see guys discussing about watts and power and THAT **** flies over my head lol. I try to keep **** as minimal as possible using the least amount of space. But having at least one white wall helps for sure when it comes to shooting stuff with a mannequin. However, it isn't a complete necessity (as you demonstrated :) )

Sorry guys I've been lurking but not posting. Need some help.

Has anyone had a buyer wash an item and want to return it. Not sure why this guy washed the item before mentioning a stain and now it has a hole in it.

If the buyer washed the item then it's not in the same condition as it was received, so you can win the case. Did he acknowledge it or are you guessing this on the condition that you received the item? If you can get it in writing, you should be good to go. Not that I've experienced this myself but I'm basing this upon what I've read in this thread. You can try to coax this information out of the buyer by asking innocuous questions like 'did you handwash it or put it in the machine?' or something like that.

He stated it in the case he opened. Not sure why he wouldn't notify me prior.

"Received the U2 October shirt. Unfortunately their was paint stained on it between the letters O and B in OCTOBER. I tried to wash out the paint, which resulted in the shirt almost wearing a hole in that spot. I will keep the shirt, but it would have been nice to have that in the description. John"

"Received the U2 October shirt. I guess someone has to like U2, right? Unfortunately their was paint stained something that looked like paint on it between the letters O and B in OCTOBER. I tried to wash out scrape off the paint with a blunt knife, which completely unexpectedly resulted in the shirt almost wearing a hole in that spot. I will keep the shirt, but it would have been nice to have that in the description if I wasn't so stupid and didn't have such terrible taste in music. John"

Corrected for truth.

Time to get on the phone and talk to an ebay agent. If you have supporting pictures that'll help, too. From what I've read, he definitely can't return the shirt now and leave negative feedback because he washed it and made a hole in it. Not sure if he can still claim Item not as described and win that case. Even if the case is resolved in your favor (most likely scenario) just the fact of him opening a NAD case counts as a defect (I think), so that part sucks.

Quote: If the seller WINS the case (not if the case is closed by the buyer) then the defect is removed, all feedback (pos, neut, neg) are removed and all DSR star ratings are removed. If the case is open and the buyer closes the case before eBay closes it in the sellers favor non of that is true. If you have a 100% strong case for buyers remorse it is almost better for the buyer to open the case vs just leaving a random neg feedback.

Guys, how many non-paying bidders are you getting a week? I'm getting between 10-15% and its freaking driving me nuts. Especially since I'm ramping up sales and putting up some higher value items, I don't know why ebay is so hard on sellers but so lenient on buyers. (I mean, I get why they are nice to the buyers, but they seem a little too lax, y'know?)

I would take a U2 october original shirt with a hole in it. :(
