Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 1988

Thread Starter
If anyone is shopping for a new printer/copier, I want to recommend the Brother MFC-L2720DW. I bought one a couple of months ago and have been using it regularly. I wanted something wireless that could print, copy, scan and anything else that would make my life easier.

Here are the positives:
  • Setup was a breeze. I plugged it in and typed in my password. Unpacking to printing (from the next room) was around 5 minutes.
  • Nice touchscreen.
  • Prints/copies are fast, at least fast enough for me. I click print and it's ready for me by the time I walk over to the printer.
  • You can scan into Google Drive, Evernote, Drop Box, One Note, Facebook, and Flickr. I've currently only used Google Drive. It works well once it's set up.
  • You can scan as an editable text document, though I haven't tried. You can also scan and email a PDF. I just pushed the button, but it's not setup yet.

Cons:
Touchscreen is a bit small. I hate when the full keyboard is up, I always hit the wrong buttons, I'm sure it's even more difficult for someone with fatter fingers.

In short, it is one of those things that can make your life easier. It's relatively uncomplicated and not hard on the wallet. The actual prints are perfectly fine. I don't expect a whole lot out of a printer, but text is crisp. I'm the only one that uses mine, so it doesn't have a hard life, but I'm sure it would be up to the challenge of multiple users in a small office setting. I just took a look at Amazon.com and it's pretty cheap. I was happy to pay €225 with shipping.

I have seen them at C21 in NYC look the same as regular zegna ties except for the neck part and the medallion, although iirc the ones at c21 the medallion was printed on the keeper loop.

I think someone else here (@Fueco?) uses the 4XL which prints full-sized 4x6 labels, but is also much more expensive.

Bumping a really old post but I just got the Dymo 450 Turbo. I got everything installed and then I got paid for an item. When I went to try it out in eBay, I went to label preferences, but the Dymo 450 Turbo isn't listed. Do you just select the Dymo 400 Turbo?

Yes.

I'm about ready to dump the Benz.  Warranty almost up, and it's a huge PITA every time I need the scheduled service - should have taken into account how far I live from the dealer before I bought it.  Eyeballing a 2017 Ford Escape, and with dealer and manufacturer discounts, the base model is under $19k.  Not sure if that would qualify, and I only use my car for thrift runs like 30% of the time, but good info!

Rant: (Click to show)
Went to print a label last night on my HP PhotoSmart 6520, and about half of it printed, then the "low ink warning" popped up.  Thanks, HP, for the warning when the ink was actually out, not just low.  Ran to Best Buy at lunch and got a new $25 black ink pack, installed it, and it printed worse than before.  Clean print heads etc did nothing.  So back to Best Buy after work, picked up a super cheap HP OfficeJet 3830 ($60 - truly a disposable printer) and extra black ink pack for another $20 (and that's how they get ya - "sell the razor for cheap and the blades are sky high" sort of thing).  Wish I knew beforehand that Best Buy is also offering 15% off printers when you trade in any printer - was getting dark and I still don't have my Rx night driving glasses and needed the printer now, so I'll toss the old one on the heap.  I now have 3 old HP printers on the heap.  Not sure why I keep buying them - maybe because they're so damn inexpensive, and they print well until they don't - seems like if you let them run dry it permanently screws up the print heads or something.  /Rant

Oh yeah, I still like it, and it's super comfy and sharp and all...but really, I need something bigger.  I can't count how many times I've been at a thrift or estate sale and was like "shit, I'd totally buy that chair / trunk / sofa / whatever if I had a bigger car".  And no way I'm getting into a GL - waste an entire Saturday when I need service on what I have. Being in the burbs, owning a home etc - just makes sense to have something bigger and sensible.  I think I talked myself into it...maybe this weekend.

I typically wouldn't do this, but can someone take a look at my auction and tell me why it's not getting any traction (it's a killer Panta sportcoat). I'm not a pro seller, but I typically don't have a problem getting 75%+ of what the pros do get for the same item. This one is just not working for me.

I would take that offer...I'm getting zero interest.. like 1.5 views per day nothing.

Just some constructive criticism. The color looks extremely yellow with the inside light you have reflecting off of it. I cant tell what color it is. It also doesn't say the color in the listing. Atleast do the main picture with outside light or a neutral light to see the true color. Maybe add the pattern and the color to the drop down details.

Also FWIW your structure and margin between auction price and BIN don't make any sense. Might as well not bother with one or the other.
