Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 1954

Anyone that uses eBay bulk shipping tool have an issue when you go to purchase the labels it says it's having trouble with payment source?  I just had this happen with my first 50 labels, so I went back and bought them again, Then I find out it DID charge for the labels and create them, so I have 2x shipping labels (and charges) for my first 50 packages.  I had to make sure I printed 50 and voided 50 and that they weren't the same one.  The same thing happened with the second batch, but I didn't purchase twice, so it was just a matter of going into the shipping label page and reprinting the labels.

What a pain in the ass, I will have to call ebay about the shipping labels because it will affect my one day handling time record for the second tracking #.

Dat feel when another buyer messages you, saying he's so pissed he missed this item, and offers you $400 more if you cancel the other transaction and sell it to him instead. I declined, of course, but jesus.

I ship ties in the uline 6x3x3 box for several years now.  I selected the 6" length because the shipping label (5.5" wide) wraps nicely without needing to be trimmed.

I ship everything I sell in a box, because that's how I like to receive stuff.

I hate getting a tie that was shipped in an envelope. Never had damage but it just seems sketchy.

^Not by that amount, but I get at least one a week.  I always tell them to use bid snipers so they don't miss out next time.

I prefer shipping and receiving things in bags/envelopes as long as the item isn't fragile (which face it, 80%+ of the stuff we sell isn't fragile). We waste enough as a society without ripping through cardboard boxes like they're going out of style. Yes, I realize I'm in the minority on this one here, but I do live in the GoreTex Vortex and consider myself at least somewhat eco-conscious.

I received a pair of sandals (replacements for my overly worn Olukai flip flops) in the mail from Canada the other day, which were packed in a regular mailer like I use for shirts. They arrived in better condition than the last few items I've received in boxes, and probably cost the seller less to ship.

Cardboard is infinitely more eco-friendly than poly mailers though. I know that paper mills are some of the worst pollutants on the planet, but the end product is reusable for a while and then recycleable/mulchable. If the poly mailers were reusable, then they'd win out, but 99.99999% of the time they're torn open and then thrown into a garbage can and eventually become a part of a garbage island.
