I was talking to @txwoodworker the other day, and he is one of the sellers who uses a made up serial number to identify each item so he can package them as he lists them, and identify them by writing that number on the package when it comes time to ship. He mentioned to me that there was a place, using Turbo-Lister where you could enter in your unique identifying alphanumeric number and it would print out on your label, making it that much easier to match label to box. Is there a field in GarageSale that you can do this with? Barring that, is there a place in the actual item edit interface where you could input that unique identifier?
In Turbo Lister, the field is called "Custom Label".

I was wondering this the other day. If you offer free domestic shipping, does that include HI and AK?

Yes and also includes apo/fpo, protectorates like Puerto Rico etc, unless you edit your list of exclusions. But if you're shipping usps flat rate it's the same price as anywhere else in the US. My issue was it went priority in my own packaging - not flat rate.

Yes, you can add a SKU in Garage Sale. It's in the inspector, advanced tab, about half way down. You can also add the original cost of the item.
AWESOME! Thanks!

Hey Spoo - Can you please patent the whole bolded descriptive first word for eBay listings? The amount of people jocking your **** is getting comical. Browsing clothes in my size and getting listings for 'INSANE Ralph Lauren Chaps Shirt' or 'BOLD J Ferrar Khaki Pants' is getting silly.
Or....some of us just learning from the best. Spoo was kind enough to help me with my first eBay listings a few years ago
I guess I shouldn't have made it seem like it should never ever be used. I looked through your completed listings and using a descriptor such as stunning when talking about Tom Ford shoes is completely understandable. I'm just laughing to myself as I'm going through listings and seeing all of the run of the mill stuff (and I buy my fair share of run of the mill stuff, not knocking that) that people add words to that make it seem like it's the most special blue dress shirt (or whatever). Like, a solid color polo shirt from Macy's being described as STUNNING is absurd to me unless the color is such a vibrant color that it literally makes you go cross-eyed and dizzy.

I loled
That is the Corneliani label, Most likely made in Italy, but possibly Slovakia.
Ive never come across a PRL with a Corneliani label that has the "made in slovakia" label in the neck, you must be crazy.

@jdrizzy

You will find two of my best selling investments below:

My only regret is not spending the extra $1 for the plastic ones, they make a DRAMATIC difference in the lay/shape of the suit on the mannequin. My only other bit of advice, which is something I need to further take myself, is spend some time on a more professional looking HTML template. The info you will have in the HTML body will be the same as what you have now, but it will just strike the potential buyer as a higher end service. Once the template is done, you can re-use it a million times. I had started by just googling "free ebay html templates" and then editing one for ebay. At this point, I really need to step up my cookie cutter game to something even more professional looking.

edit: for lower quantity sellers like myself, who cannot get to the thrifts on a daily, or even weekly basis at times, Fixed Price BIN/OBO is the only way to go imo.

Back to the "No guarantee of authenticity" disclaimer by seller on EBay. Apparently this disclaimer is what caught the attention of the EBay police and caused them to remove 17 of my listings. All are authentic, but I claimed not to guarantee authenticity. Back to the drawing board on disclaimers.

I put mine in the sku number slot. I haven't seen a way to make that print out on the mailer yet. When you view the overview screen in Garagesale and click on a folder, there is an option to view a table of items instead of the thumbnail view. The table view includes the SKU. When I get the paid notification, I move the items that sold into a "pull" folder, which I now see in the table and print off the list of items, by sku. I submitted a feature request for a "pull" list in garage sale that would combine SKU, thumbnail of item, title, buyer name, buyer address. All that info is in GS, but you have to use 4 screens to get it. If you guys are doing this an easier way, please share. I've also just printed the packing list off ebay, but no SKU.

I was looking at the xml doc for turbo lister last week, because maybe there's a specific field to be hacked.

@txwoodworker, can you provide the specific field you're using in turbo lister?

Hoo boy - made a nice shipping cost mistake. Figured shipping on an item to be about $20 based on size & weight (bigger than USPS large flat rate)...buyer was from Hawaii, shipping cost was $64. Least I got a $20 discount on postage thru eBay. Lesson learned - if shipping non flat-rate and allowing shipping to AK and HI, add the surcharge!
use calculated shipping.

Schedule your listing, you have the EBAY item number then, box it, right that number on the box, and I KNOW there is an option to print EBAY item number on the shipping label.
