Had a defect removed today...supposedly. They don't come off automatically unless it is an escalated case that is decided in your favor. If the buyer closes the case, the defect still stands, unless you fight/appeal it on the phone with ebay.

Today's was one from a few weeks ago when the mail carrier scanned all my packages as delivered. I had to get the postmaster to back out all of the tracking and reenter it so it would track again. The case was opened in the mean time and since the tracking now shows delivered, they removed the defect. It is still on my downloadable defect report for now, but the defect percentage went down almost immediately.

I have one defect that I definitely need to get removed - buyer had their old address in PayPal, owned up to it in eBay messaging, opened a case as "not received", USPS showed delivered. Should be a no-brainer, I would think...

Oh frack I had the backwards-scan happen to me once - what a nightmare - it was like 20 packages all showing delivered to my city, buyers messaging asking what the hell was going on. Postman who picked them up said "oh, they'll get there" - I explained I had people losing their minds and messaging me non-stop...that I couldn't prove delivery happened, etc. Did not know I could have them backed out and re-entered as picked up instead - very good to know in case it ever happens again, which I hope it does not. When I schedule pickup on larger batches I even put in the notes "please do not scan as delivered - scan as picked up", if that makes any difference.

backwards scans are right up there with dentists, flat tires on highways, and 4 year old birthday parties.

OK. I have this nice suit, in 9.5/10 condition on the outside.

Unfortunately the lining has some pretty bad yellow underarm stains.

Is there a "method" for these type of biological stains? Have the dry cleaner give it a shot? List and disclose?

What do you guys do with interior staining?

I've had mixed results with lining soiling and usually just pass on them now - but would have kopped that BBBF too! I'd have a go at it on my own with some plain old Shout, dab it up with a clean damp cloth wet with distilled water then immediately dry it with a hair dryer to avoid water spots. Unless you paid a lot for it, then seek professional advice.

Quote: Some of the labels I am passing on I still pick up thrifitng to sell for a nice profit but for consignment they just do not work "usually".

Thanks, lots of editing on text still to do.

Ref the pictures on the home page. I would eventually LOVE to have them link to the auctions, but at the moment they are just a nice assortment of items listed (and sold) to give an idea of the types of items I sell, quality pictures, etc. There is an option to have it go right to the auction but just takes a lot of time to set up each one. Down the road fr sure.

EDIT - Sucked it up and started getting the pictures to link to the live auctions. Some are old sold items but the new ones will all have links!

My trending data still highlights April as a month that is taken into count. Unless I am reading into this incorrectly

My status is showing standard because I am 28/35 in transactions validated by the carrier, which is bs considering I walk every item into the post office personally, within the handling time, to get the process started. Pretty pissed off about it because I am going to lose my top rated seller status.

Also, a quick vent, I must have a target when entering the post office. I've had two postal employees pretty argumentative with me for basically no reason. First, I brought in an item packed in an RRA box, and the postal employee argued with me for about 5 minutes that the box wasn't a regional rate...until he turned it over an exclaimed "I hate how they hide the descriptions on the box!" When the description was bolded and in the center. Secondly, the postal employee asked why I didn't use padded flat rate envelopes for all of the items I said. I explained that I used an online discount and some items just make more sense, and the flat envelope comes in at under $5. Well...there is no way that the flat rate envelope can cost under $5. The regular price is $5.60! But upon closer inspection the postal worker realized that the cost was printed on the label. This is what I get for differentiating from my local post.

It's new...Account Tab (Hover) > Seller Dashboard (Click) > View Trending Data (right under seller level)

Thanks for that. It's nice to see where the defects and such are. Kinda hurts to look at though.

Gonna have to get my sales up so my over-all defects go down. Opted out of managed returns, going to update my ASQ's to have a bunch of questions so the buyers contact me prior to case opening.

I was just getting worried about the notification saying that my top rated seller status is at risk... But then I checked my defects, and I only have one since March. I think my volume is high enough to only go back three months...

I am baffled

So I go to print a report and see which ones failed (I shipped a painting via UPS so thought it might be that one)

I have 1 sale right now that happened last night for a jacket, the guy bid on a tie as well and wanted me to ship both together (although I offer free shipping

). I closed the auction and awarded the winning bid to him. If he doesn't pay right away I have to ship that by tomorrow to keep my 1 day handling right?

PSA for people who've been having trouble with printing Regional Rate boxes from USPS's site.

From GMMCcl (after I PMed him to let him know I was going to use a previous ebay transaction from him to print a new label for a trade with an SF member).

What would you do in this situation? I have a ZZegna linen suit for auction. There is a tiny pinhole on the left lapel from a lapel pin. I photographed it (third pic) but forgot to make a note in the listing. It got bid on right away and now I'm unable to edit the listing properly. I messaged the one bidder and asked if he'd be okay with me canceling his bid to update the listing. Haven't heard back yet. I did add a note in big bold letters at the bottom of the listing. Am I set in regard to seller protection or do I need to just cancel the bid and update the main portion of the listing? Ideally, I'd rather not have to bother the customer with that, but I'm wondering what you guys would do. I've never forgotten to add a note like this.
