I recently purchased 5 sport coats and paid $13.95 EACH for shipping and was more than a little pissed off when they all arrived (very wrinkled) in one USPS Priority Mail box.

Send the buyer a polite message with an humble request for some type of refund to recoup some of your shipping expenses. If the seller declines, then hit him with low DSRs on each coat and neutral feedback. DO NOT THREATEN HIM WITH NEUTRAL/NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, as this will give him a valid excuse to have it removed. I really hate to even advise you leave any less-than-positive feedback. However, what he did was over-the-top shitty.

Absolutely not a violation of TOS. Bad customer service. Not condoning it, not trying to be an advocate for bad sellers, but that is all it is.

Just to add regarding feedback, this is where less than stellar sellers get hit, and why I work so hard to keep people happy and maintain 100%. I think it says something to potential buyers.

Correct. It is not a violation whatsoever. However, it is a violation of common decency. Perhaps I was being too harsh. I could almost understand shipping 2 together. But to charge for 5 separate shippings and literally stuff them into one box?!?!?!

I was just thinking that you could use the wrinkles as another justification for a partial refund, knowing that eBay would see it your way.

I agree with the good Dr., though. Ask politely, nail his ass with low DSRs and neutrals if he refuses.

Guys like this give eBay more reason to favor buyers in disputes. He's making it harder on the rest of us polite, fair sellers

I didn't respond. I think I'll just wait to see what transpires and if tracking info is not updated by then call Ebay to close it hopefully like I was told. Assuming she's stating what she was actually told, the info seems conflicting.

Today, lady opens NAD case against me. So I guess I have the open return and now actual case against me by her.

She hasn't shipped item yet. I guess she's waiting for me to front her funds still for US to CAN shipping.

Got the automated Ebay messages saying for me to send buyer funds for return shipping. Contact the buyer, etc. If not done by 7th they will rule in buyer's favour and refund her money and she can keep item.

I called Ebay and explained that I'm not comfortable fronting additional funds to this buyer without seeing returned item first and make sure it's even correct one.

Recapped my last Ebay conversation where they said call on 2nd and they will closr in my favour if she doesn't have tracking info by now. This Ebay rep said for me to send another message to buyer clarifying I already approved return and already stated I would cover return shipping once item received. I don't have good feeling. Random answers from each Ebay rep.

I'm calling tomorrow on 2nd whether I hear from buyer or not.

Package could be well on its way by now if buyer wasn't sitting on it.

When you get an answer you like, ask them to make a note of that and get the SRN (service request number). This is the unique code they can look up to see any conversations/comments you have had with ebay reps before hand. I have found when you ask them to put a note on and get the SRN they actually do because they know you are going to follow up if you have any issues.

ALWAYS get the SR number when you get information favorable to you. When you ask for it, it forces them to enter data in the computer about the conversation - if you don't, they don't log it in automatically.

Because Ebay forced me to write buyer again she responded, saying Ebay told her she had to open case for her to get return shipping label and she'll ship once that is provided to her.

I'm calling tomorrow and pushing on Ebay.

Spoke with a couple of diff Ebay reps today, and now they are totally siding with buyer that I need to front her return shipping otherwise they are likely to side with buyer and not require her to even return item. [get jacket for free just like she hinted at when first reporting damage].

Total reversal of what Ebay told me before.

Seems the anti-me reps left notes but the anti-buyer reps did not. So for future I need to be diligent about SRN as you guys suggested.

Will prob just front funds then hoping she doesn't ship back in time. Taking a bath either way on this item. Ridiculous, since I know I didn't ship her damaged item. Next time I need more pics to prove that.

This goes to something said a week or so ago... if you make an offer lower then your first offer... auto decline. I have no problem trying to work on a price that we are both happy and will usually respond to most any first offer but don't waste my time

I decided to just refund and not bother with returned item. Life is too short. Blocked her though.

I think that may promote this type of behavior.

Had to cut losses. Always a chance she didn't return jacket... But she seems on the ball for sticking it to seller. This way I'm not also refunding return shipping for damaged jacket.

Some info that i found out the other day from eBay:

If you offer Global shipping program, and you also offer other shipping options, the GSP automatically takes over. The buyer cant choose.

This is really unbelievable for eBay to do. While you can offer multiple shipping services with multiple companies, you cant with GSP.

I feel really stupid wasting my time listing this in hundreds of items. Thinking I was helping out Canadians.

I almost feel like just offering shipping to a few 1st world countries that i can ship usps "ground" to
