Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 1861

It's been about 1.5 months now since I switched to 30-day returns, and I just had the first return to maximize that time. 28 days later.... Bast4rds...

Well... this is odd... winning bidder just paid, and then sent me a message stating "do not send the watch i do not want it because of the movement" which I fully disclosed (and included pictures) in the auction...

Now what do I do? Haven't had someone pay before, then say never mind I don't want the item... Honestly sucks, and not sure if this will be resolved in time to re-run the auction this Thursday...

Refund the money amd relist. I'm sure that is what the buyer is expecting. Probably was pumped to win, paid, then thought "wait a minute...shit."

Avoid headaches and just give him the money back.

@bpk1 man, that is extremely aggravating. I've had people do this before but never at that price level. There should really be a penalty fee or something for shitbird buyers who totally waste our time with no repercussions.

Send a second chance offer out if the price seems decent. Otherwise yeh refund and relist. Happens to me every other week. Just not for that amount of money.

If you want to ding him, you could let some time pass so he gets hit with an unpaid item case.

"Because the movement was disclosed in the auction, and given the high selling price of this item, I believe it's only fair that an unpaid item claim be recorded. You will not be forced to pay for the watch, but after x days, an unpaid item claim will be opened by eBay, and then automatically closed a few days later if payment is not received. It's my opinion that the unpaid claim will accurately reflect what happened, because the item was properly described on my behalf."

edit - disregard, missed the part about the buyer having already paid.

You cant open an unpaid item case if the item was paid for already. He would have to refund the item, send over a cancel transaction form, then to get the FVF fees back you have to call ebay, you cant file for them online because he paid. Super annoying.

Do you allow refunds, and if so do you charge a restocking fee?  I'm thinking of switching to 30-day returns, and buyer pays return shipping plus a 20% restocking fee.  If you did that, he'd have to pay $200 just to return it.

But he hasn't shipped it yet - I don't think he would be able to charge a return restocking fee if the buyer cant complete the full return process (receive item, return request, upload tracking etc).

A quick check I use with AE if I can't see the vamp area is to check the heel. Every AE shell that I've seen uses that rubber/leather dovetail heel. Also, the raised, almost micro, pimples in between the rolls only seems to happen with shell as it accumulates stress from wearing over time (though that texture can make it can look like creasing). I know it's possible to force down that texture, as I see Wes do it and others in the shoe care thread, but I'm not sure how yet.

Hey @SpooPoker or any other very creative listers,

How would you describe this Zegna tie.  I don't seem to posesss the poetic flourish to describe these very well.
