Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 1796

shipping question.

Buyer paid for two jackets, both at $400 a piece, with 40 a pop intl shipping. Located in south korea. he paid for priority express, but paypal shipping labels are only available for standard intl priority shipping. Should I just put them both in one box and ship standard priority, or would it void seller protection?

Put in one box, ship priority express and insure for full amount.  Korea has a 75% success rate with me.

If you go right to paypal payments, you can ship express to any country that ebay does not offer express to - you just won't get a discount (if you are eligible for an ebay shipping discount). I found this out last week and its awesome.

All of this... In addition, if you ship the jackets together and there is money left over, send the guy a refund for the difference. It's a good business practice and practically ensures a repeat customer.

has anyone ever actually successfully made an insurance claim through usps? Im under the impression that the added insurance is pointless and you'll just get jerked around indefinitely if you actually try to cash it in.

I have - but international claims are a long drawn out process and a huge PITA. Actually the insurance program via that third party insurance program eBay uses is super easy and pays out no question - but they can (and will, trust me) limit your option to use it for a year if you have too many won claims. Which is BS, but whatever.

So shipping insurance added through the Ebay shipping check out process is pseudo-legit, while added insurance through paypal usps checkout is significantly shitty?

If faced with an option, I choose the ebay/third party one, all day, erry day.

Can anyone help me with an authenticity check? There's no tags inside or out on either. Thank you in advance.

Thank you. I assumed as much, but they were $5 and I knew I could easily return them.

For $5, i say keep one, and google "how to spot a fake burberry (whatever)", then go thru the checklist with the fake in hand.  you'll learn what to look for / look out for.  i did it with a fake LV bag just so i could see, in person, what was wrong about it.  the hands-on made it stick in my brain.  then i gave it to my sister who was happy to have it, fake and all.
