I'll chime in to say that I get more returns on shoes than anything else. Other stuff can be altered, not so for shoes.

out of about 60 pair sold in 4th quarter of last year, I got 5 back.

Also as you point out, a lot of guys don't know their size. I had a guy return a pair of shoes because I showed the inside length at 11" and his foot measured a hair under 11". He didn't realize that you have to add a half inch for toe room.

I advertise a 15% restocking fee, but only charge it if I paid for original shipping or feel the person is being a dick.

What possesses people to send messages about listings that expired a year ago? I get, on average, about a message per week asking if I've sold this item.

Yeah, I sold it, that's why it's not up any more... Incidentally, the guy who did buy it scammed PayPal for the purchase.

I know things were sized to fit a little looser back in the day, and top coats are usually designed to accommodate a suit underneath, but this cashmere beauty is tagged a 42 and it has a pit to pit of 25 inches. ffffuuuu.gif I feel like this scenario always hurts the sale because it creates confusion for the buyer, regardless of what you say in the auction with regard to following the measurements.

Buying question:  considering bidding on an electronics item listed in Canada (I'm in the US).  It's not cheap, and no returns...though the ad itself says it does work and I believe them.  Does anyone know for sure if I am protected (via eBay and/or PayPal) if it arrives DOA?  ...by for "sure", I mean either thru personal experience, or intimate knowledge of eBay & PayPal buyer protections, when it comes to stuff like this...

Secondarily: might I be subject to customs / import duties?  It'd probably be over $500.  I've bought stuff from Canada before but typically less than $100.

Thanks.

You're good. Its the sellers job to get something that functions (electronics) to your door in the same condition that its sent in - which if they say it powers up and is good to go, you're fine.

Customs, depends on the carrier. FedEx you are fucked, that I know.

OK thank you!  Shipped Canada Post, which I am fairly certain gets transferred to USPS when it hits the border.

Gonna pop a bid and see if I win.

Merci.

Could use some help from the title creation artists for these couple ties... thanks in advance!

"Love me, love me not..." Breuer tie... My googlefu is weak on this one, seems to point to a game of French origins

Brioni x 2

This background on this one reminds me of the Aramark logo, but I doubt Aramark is having Brioni make ties for them... Has what looks like a guy sitting in a chair?

...you've never played "she loves me, she loves me not"?  Basically you pick a flower (daisy or something like that - dandelion etc with lots of petals), and pluck the petals, alternately saying "she loves me" (pluck one petal), "she loves me not" (pluck another petal), and keep going.  Whichever you end on, is the result - either she loves you, or does not.

Double dog dare anyone to do this while at the altar, before saying "I do."

Can't say I have - thanks for the background info though!

Should I feel bad about rejecting a return? Listed all the normal measurements on a sport coat. Guy says it just doesn't fit so I can say no.

I usually try to work it out but I feel like returned items always get less watchers than before and have sat around when I do except them.

It's pretty annoying so is there anyway this will bite me if I say no.

Edit:I also gave the guy a free polo tie since it was a polo jacket

Hey guys, very confused by this listing. The labels don't make sense for a Samuelsohn piece.

When did Sammy use that label with the heart? If it was post-2013, could it be possible that they churned out some pieces from the Hickey Freeman factory (which they purchased that year)?

michelangelo's rendering of the prophet isaiah. from the ceiling of the sistine chapel. (fun fact - it's also the basis for norman rockwell's rosie the riveter)
