Sometimes their stuff even goes for crazy prices (3 pc suit pulled $300+). Most of the time it sells about as well as Corbin and Cricketeer, those "Trad/Ivy for the masses" brands. Generally not worth your time.

The good PB stuff is older, very tradly, and made of some unique fabric (mohair blends, red silk matka, etc.). I wouldn't bother with hopsack blazers and gray flannel suits

So, a question for those of you who are more experienced than I am:

I picked up a pair of Wallace & Barnes wool pants a few days ago. Was looking around for comparables for pricing but couldn't find anything like it. Saw this in the pants leg today:

So I assume they're a 1 of a kind sample pair? Should I list for more than I would a normal pair? I mean, they're a thick, textured wool and fucking awesome but I have no idea.

Store for only BINOBO items? Once you have a store you can still list stuff "not" in the store? Don't see any downside to putting everything in the store?

Those are my size, so you should send them to me.

What size would you call a suit with these measurements? Getting messages from somebody on eBay berating me for not understanding how to size men's suits.

Jacket:

Pit to pit - 21” across, 42” around

Sleeves from shoulder seam - 25"

Shoulder seams across - 18.5"

Across waist - 20"

Length from BOC - 30"

Pants:

Waist - 17” across, 34” around

Inseam - 33”, 3” seam allowance

Outseam - 41"

Across Thigh - 12"

Across Ankle - 8.5"

Rise - 9.5"

closest to 40r, but the typical length from BOC that i've seen is 31, 30 seems a hair short...

...i hardly ever (maybe never) have dealt with a 40s so i dunno what those typically run, maybe that's the hangup here? is this BBBF or thom browne or vintage?

I'd say 30" is average tbh. Under that I would say would constitute as "short".

40R is 29.5-31 usually

40S is going to be high 28 to low 29.

I'd call it a 40 R no questions. What did the tag say?

my closet (zenga, prl, miyake, corn, barbera) disagrees with you. 31 (or slightly longer) BOC to hem is what i'm seeing.

fwiw, i've got an 42r rlbl jacket that runs very short, <30 but certain brands that's the fit philosophy. if it's something more mainstream i'd expect to see 31 or a touch longer

I don't think 31" is long, either. 30"-31.5" is probably "average". Shorter than that is Short, 32"+ is Long.

well just to be clear it sounds to me like your measurements add up to a 40r.

if your guy is saying that it runs short the only thing i can imagine is if the jacket fits a little snug overall the lack of ease may "take up" the length slightly but that's on him for not knowing his own body, no?

and anyways there's certainly no reason for any berating. i assume you listed as a 40r, your measurements seem fine to me

Thanks all.  I have the suit listed as a US 40R, taken from the measurements.  The tagged size is EU 56, which is also included in the auction information.  He's throwing a fit that it should be a 46R US, and that clearly I don't know the first thing about how to measure a suit.  Very tempted to go ahead and add user rakegreen to the block list.
