Um, you have that backward.

The Measured size = the tagged size +2. So a 44R jacket would have a 46" chest, or 23" pit to pit.

If your jacket measures 42" around , its a size 40.

Oops yeah, you're right. My mistake.

I opened a SNAD case against a seller for a suit with a hole and requested a refund of purchase price + original shipping + return shipping, but he doesn't want to pay the return shipping. I'm usually on the seller end of cases so I'm not looking to screw anyone over, but it already took him forever to ship and when it arrived the hole was fairly obvious. If I escalate the case, will ebay just refund me without proof of return? I don't want the and I don't really care about the $10 return shipping. It's more about principle and the fact that he's being a prick.

This was his first message before the case was open This is what he wrote in the case message: Here is the case
Hes not verbose, is he? :) I think its fairly winnable, make sure you point to where it says "silver CLAD" - not silver, and replica. Remember, keep the personality flowing, keep the incredulous, "yeah its pretty obvious lol" attitude, and keep bringing up that while you feel bad if he thought they were real silver and not replicas, it would have been a million dollar sale - and while you're sorry that perhaps he didn't understand the listing properly, its not something that falls under something thats not as described, but rather buyers remorse. Let us know how it goes - and call first thing in the AM, there are always perky agents there early.

What feedback do you leave if you win something on eBay then seller sells it here instead? Got message earlier saying seller would be out of town so couldn't ship until Friday and now just refunded payment. Don't want to be a dick but also pretty sure seller didn't sell it until after I won it on eBay.

You can conjure bad universe karma for them, or wish a pox upon their house, which is usually more satisfying. As a seller, I don't see anything wrong with offering the same thing for sale on multiple channels - and the first to pay gets it, all others get refunded until all listings can be deleted/removed etc, so no harm no foul in the scheme of things.
By "win" do you mean you were a high bidder in an auction, or used Buy It Now? An auction item really shouldn't be listed in more than one place (my opinion), but BIN in multiple places happens all the time.

It was auction, and it ended last night (paid last night as well). Just seems weird you would send message today saying you are out of town then say it's actually sold after. And wouldn't you see in your PayPal you had two payments? It's still listed as available here so not sure what is going on exactly.

And I list things on 3 websites so I understand, but like you said if it's an auction I wouldn't sell it elsewhere. Never left negative before and probably just won't leave any as it could be honest mistake

While it's a nice gesture to refund the return shipping cost, unless he is enrolled in the managed returns program, he is not required by eBay to do so, even for SNAD. If you win the case, eBay will only award you the original purchase price with original shipping.

If the buyer wanted the SNAD item returned then he (the buyer) would have to pay then return shipping right? Or no?

If the seller does not have to pay return shipping and the buyer does not return the item, can you report the buyer?

As Wes said, if you win a SNAD case the buyer is responsible for return shipping costs....just how it goes. If you do not ship the item back, the seller has no obligation to send you a refund and even if you win initially, after a certain amount of time ebay will close the case in the sellers favor due to the item not being returned. Also, tracking is required for proof of the return (just the same as when the seller shipped you the package to start with). Its a pretty straight forward concept.

What good honest ebay seller does not combine shipping???? $5 to ship 1 shirt from NY to NJ.... OK, but I won 3 shirts and they want $15. Am I crazy to think that is CRAZY!?

My reply after being told they do not combine shipping

Opinions on how to handle this? Shirts were won on the cheap, but still, I dont like being ripped off on shipping nontheless.

PS - Feel free to tell me I'm wrong. I would not ask for a "discount" for single item with high shipping after winning (only speaking with the buyer before the auction ends), but is it not a fair assumption that multiple items will be combined in one box? I did not think that would even be a question.

Has anyone ever had this happen on eBay?
Bid on a pair of shoes fairly high end, from seller in UK quit bidding at £150 it went up to £175 or so. Next day i get a second chance offer at the highest bid i made. Ok he probably had a dummy bidder but I'm ok at the price his feedback is good etc so i pay. Shoes arrive but by the time i check them and find the soles are soft when he said they have plenty of wear left etc I find that the item is removed by eBay and If I try to look at the listing I am advised that they removed item. Sellers feedback is now listed as 0% and a note advises me not to pay for it - if I have any problem to go through resolution centre. OK I try that but no go because the item no longer exists. Big full stop. What the hell has happened and what happens next?!!

Seller might not know how to combine shipping onto a single invoice...but they still should offer it/figure it out. I agree - combined shipping on items that can be shipped together is the mark of a fair seller.

(side note to @Koala-T: if you win both, I'll certainly combine!

Happened to me recently. I was charged 15 dollars for 3 ties. I requested an invoice and was sent the full shipping amount in the invoice. Asked them if they would reduce the shipping because 15 for 3 ties is crazy. They said sorry but their shipping price would come to 15 dollars. They arrived First Class which I know only costs a 2-4 bucks at most for 3 ties. Not boxed or anything. Just a regular poly mailer. I left them neutral feedback with "items arrived as described but outrageous shipping" and dinged their shipping prices and communications hard.

No reason to straight-up lie to me. I know the game, don't try to cheat me at it.

I stumbled across this for EU conversions and it seems to hold true for the Canali's I recently purchased from Vexco. I'm a US 44L and the EU 56L fit like a glove: http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?48883-European-suit-sizing

Where it really, really gets confusing is the short and long sizes. Not all countries use the S and L to indicate small or large. I copied this from suitsupply. For example, a European 48 is an American/U.K. 38. But a 24 is American/U.K. 38S, while a 94 corresponds to a 38L and so on.
