Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 1607

There is one thing in @Jompso's post that struck me as true as a buyer: Power Seller status is pretty well meaningless to me. Except for the seller who has < 10 feedback, I pretty much don't care what the status of the seller is. The only thing that matters is "do they have something that interests me at a price I like?"

Having sold less than two dozen things on Ebay in ten plus years, I don't know the ins and outs and benefits of the various Ebay incentives, so do not take this as a seller's advice on what to do. But from my buyer's perspective, Power Seller status is just about worthless.

I will say, 100 wpm is impressive. I'm an insanely fast typist and this was my first test score:

Gonna take that test once a day until I'm at 100+ wpm

I understand @Jompso's train of thought. And, there is some solid logic behind his well-written paragraphs. On top of that, in the limited business that I have done with him, he is extremely prompt and accurate in his communication and business operations. However, I am not. Being more human than most, I am very prone to errors. I might enter a wrong measurement and my photographs will never be confused with studio-quality images. I offer hassle-free returns because I want my buyers to buy with confidence. Instead of hovering over that inviting blue "Buy it Now" rectangle, fretting over making a purchase that they are unable to return, I want them to have the mindset that if for whatever reason there is a mistake (on their part OR mine), they have the option of returning the item. Similar to @Fueco, my return percentage is ridiculously low. Allowing returns does not hinder my business... it enhances it.

I pay consignees two weeks after the sale, or after receiving feedback, for larger sales. For the small stuff, I can live with eating the cost until the returned item sells again.

Not bad...

I'm a little behind you.

Side story... My wife types at something like 120 WPM, and finds my pace glacially slow.

I walk in the door after hitting some stores today. Did ok. My brother hands these two items to me because he "doesn't like how they fit anymore." He told me I could keep them since they are both my size but I don't really need anything ATM. Vest is pretty much unworn and is a medium. Denim was bought from self edge in NYC about a year ago. 34x32 give or take on the length since he had them hemmed.

Never, unless the return was for something that was my fault.
