Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 1481

Factoid: I have almost completely stopped responding to all questions, most are just inane measurement requests and such, doesn't seem to have hurt my business at all, for what its worth.  The only exception is if they point out something I have done completely wrong or goofed on, then I offer them $5 off any future purchase and thank them for the help.

I'm relatively small-time for this thread and I have had much more luck going BIN in the summer. I had a two week stretch with about 80% non-sale rate so I launched 150 BIN items. Half have sold or received offers since then.

I do the same. Occasionally it comes up to bit me in the ass too, if you saw my post yesterday.

People ask the stupidest questions on Ebay. Is there a contest somewhere that we're unaware of?

This past Sunday I started a 7-day auction at $49.00 plus $11.00 for shipping. The next day someone messaged me and asked if I would end the auction early and take $40 and include free shipping to CA.

I have to wonder if this actually must with some sellers, because I get it constantly. Always offering less than the starting price and usually requesting free shipping. Like @concealed, I've just stopped responding. I actually blocked someone after they did this in consecutive weeks on different items.
