Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions - Page 131
PayPal has taken a bunch out of my account.
What next? How do I respond to eBay to get the best possible outcome?
Here is what I plan sending to the buyers and/or eBay customer service:
1). The auction clearly stated that the suit was tagged a 46L, but fits SLIM.
2). You bought this suit from me 33 days ago on December 15
3). The auction was final sale
3). You left me positive feedback 16 days ago on January 1. You said "AWESOME AS DESCRIBED" in your comments.
5). eBay buyer protection does not cover buyers who purchase items for family members and do not pay attention to the sizing details. Again, I said that it was tagged a 46L, but fits slimmer than a normal 46L.

Guy sent me the message AND escalated the case 2 seconds afterwards. Didn't wait for a response from me.

Call ebay.....that is the best way to get real answers, BUT with him leaving you pos feedback saying it is as described I would think you should be OK. Let us know how it ends up turning out.
Aaaaand here's the Deadboy edition of He wrote / He got.
What He Wrote:
I've paid for it 11 days ago and you charged me $19 for delivery
Totally unacceptable.
What He Got:
Hi there [douchey buyer's real name],
As I mentioned previously, your item was shipped on January 9th from Toronto via Canada Post's Small Packets Air service. As per Canada Post's delivery standards at the date of shipping, the delivery time for such an item under that service is 4-10 business days, depending on distance. As you live in [doucheville, land of urinary tract infections], I'm guessing the delivery time is on the longer end of that spectrum. Given these facts, I suggest you do the following:
- Chill.
You paid $19 for shipping because that's what the price of shipping a jacket across the continent via Canada Post's Small Packets Air service, with packaging factored in. If you are unsatisfied with that cost, I suggest you complain to Canada Post (you wouldn't be the first person) or simply not buy things from sellers who use that shipping service. In the meantime, I have every confidence your jacket will arrive within a reasonable time frame.
One other thing. This might just be because, in my day job, I work with language. But please recognize that, while this is the Internet, you are still communicating with a human being. I am not a customer service rep for a large company (although I would hope you wouldn't write with such rudeness to a person like that, either), but rather a guy up in Canada who sold you a jacket. And I don't appreciate being communicated with like that. I can assure you I will not respond to that kind of language so politely in the future.
Take care,
I could honestly care less about getting negged by this guy.
-I sell a jacket of my own, a nice super puffy goosedown thing that I liked but I have WAY too many jackets as it is.
-Buyer write me unhappy with a lots of, frankly questionable complaints.
-I write back super apologetic, offer him a full refund and to pay return shipping. I could really care less, plus worst case, I get my old jacket back, best case resell it, as I had like 100+ watchers.
-His reply, well the thing is the jacket is so destroyed that really, no one else would ever use it (keep in mind, his complaint was like a "drawstring beginning to fray"), plus he's out of tape, plus he has no car, plus he's disabled and can't mail it back for a while, so he thinks it'd be "a better business decision for me to just credit his account with a full refund and let him keep it, it'd save me money and be better for my feedback"

You've got his ass. Feedback extortion. Report him to Ebay. And put him on the blacklist.

Just a quick side note (to everyone).... you may not like/agree with all the answers they give you, BUT they IMO have always gave me accurate straightforward answers. Ebay has some crappy polices that we all know about and it is very buyer friendly. The customer service reps I have spoken to on the phone know this and just because you/they feel you might be in the right does not mean the answers they give you will be in your favor. They should be ale to tell you though, what is the best way to proceed and what the facts are. When I say to call them I dont mean its going to work out in your favor 100% of the time, but you will get the best correct answers to your problem.

Yes, from my limited and best of knowledge priority flat rate large box I believe falls under "registered mail" and should give tracking( just not sure how far the tracking will go, or what is necessary).
It's a pair of boots and figured flat rate might keep things less complicated and under weight limit.
Still not sure if I need anything special for customs to South Korea.
Let me know if this sounds accurate.

I've never had any problem receiving anything. Nothing special needs to be done with customs afaik, but sometimes if the purchase is over 150 usd the customs office will contact the receiver and charge him. This happens with maybe a fifth of my purchases over that amount.
Is this stemmed from insuring the package over 150 usd?

+1
Excellent observation. I have called a few times and have been extremely satisfied with the service. I've experienced short wait times and reps who go above and beyond.
I've had issues like this, so I have the times listed by Canada Post right in my auction, along with mention of possible delays due to customs. It seems to have cut down on the number of upset buyers; but I wonder if the stated times deter any possible customers.
