Do this. Just make sure to set it up when he's ready so nobody else grabs it.

Or set it up as a BINOBO, set a high enough price to detract other buyers, ask him to send you a $100 (or whatever you decide upon) offer, and accept it. This way you don't have to worry about timing issues.

Should he wait till the cancellation request goes through first?
I don't think that's such a good idea because he's waiting for it. Even if he doesn't respond to the cancelation it will close after a few days (I forget how much 4 or 7) and it will credit the fees back. No reason why he would refuse it as long as you explain to him what you're doing. Definitely don't arrange on e-bay to sell it off e-bay.

I once wrote *SOLD* in the title when I had to do that. You can also charge 500$ shipping and adjust the shipping on the invoice to 0. I never tried it but you can change shipping
afterwards.

so what the hell can i do? i already gave refund and sent cancel transaction request.

is it OK to relist as a BIN and have him win the auction?

I would list the defects in the new Listing as well. You can never be too careful and it would suck if he filed a claim saying not as advertised or something.

If you have a decent light setup, your nexus 5 should honestly be fine. You could download one of the free image processing software things to use on that, or just download an app for your phone to take pictures through. There are a few with good reviews.

If you want to test the theory, try taking a picture of a pair of shoes or something outside in decent natural light, if they come out fine then lights should be adequate.

OTOH, a used digital camera shouldn't be too expensive. I think fueco even thrifted a few recently, so if you keep your eyes open you could either find one or have one proxied. Decent PS digital cameras are not expensive anymore and you really don't need an SLR for this stuff. I'm a hobbyist for photography, which is why I have an old digital SLR from 2008. I'd love to buy a new camera but it's not in the cards right now. Maybe once prices for T3i's or such drop down some more.

A PS with a stand should be more than adequate I think. If you can get a stand for your nexus, then that might even work. Try it out in natural light first with one of the apps first though.

100% YES TO THIS. I was going to say this, but while scrolling down someone beat me to it, so I'll quote it. In the new listing, post the picture of the hole / snag w/e the issue is.

Put a quick blurb in the listing about minor hole, blah blah.

THIS WAY! When customer purchases, there is no surprises about mis representation.

Also, you can opt out of return services....just a thought to help buyers remorse after receiving.

But you need to get past this sale, ASAP. If this was free, sell it and move on. **** happens, just be glad it didn't happen that required you to dig into your own pocket.

got past it. all done. did what was told. cancelled, relisted, set binobo price high, he offered the agreed upon amount and it will be mailed tomorrow.

i did NOT take a pic of the hole and have it added. i jumped the gun quickly and relisted before he changed his mind. hopefully he's a good guy and doesn't try to pull that on me. if he does, i have record of our messages.

again, thanks to all.

now where are my USPS boxes i ordered 3 weeks ago?!?!

Log into your USPS account and check to make sure you actually ordered them. I have forgotten to click through all 3 of the confirmation screens on a couple occasions. Unfortunately there is no tracking on these orders though.

Once you log in, hover over your user account and select "Activity History" form the drop down menu.

You will be looking for Merchandise listings.
