I have $100 - recommend me a liquor cabinet

I came into $100 through dubious means and would like to spend it, and maybe a little more, equally dubiously. My liquor cabinet is kind of empty and I would like recommendations on what I should stock it with. I'm fond of rum, so I'd like one nice to very nice dark rum (I heard here that Barbancourt is good); beyond that I'm pretty open. Recommend away!

I would buy some maker's mark, kettel one vodka, and some dry vermouth. If you have anything left over I would get some meyers rum.

Uh, really? I don't know my rums all that well, but I had some Mount Gay Extra Old one time that wasn't bad; liquor store guy said it gets good reviews from people who know more than I do. I'd find a good store and ask there, personally; I'd also get good, $25 to $30 bottles of the big five - whisky, gin, vodka, rum, and tequila - if I were starting from scratch, at least if I planned to entertain on a semi-regular basis (which I do not, fwiw). If it'll just be you appreciating a good stiff drink every now and again, maybe two good rums and a good scotch?

I bought a bottle of Mount Gay Extra Old just now and am finding the scent to be very nice to excellent. Haven't tasted it yet because it's 400 on a Wednesday. I've enjoyed Captain Morgan Private Stock (which I highly recommend in smoothies) before and am hoping I like this even more.

I'm not a big whiskey fan but most of my friends enjoy it, so I'll probably get a bottle of Jameson. Any vodka in particular you guys would recommend, other than Ketel One? I haven't tasted a difference between most of the gins I've tried...

THANKS!

Good call. I'm presently (well, not this very minute, unfortunately) working my way through a bottle of that. I also picked up a bottle of their rye, which is kind of a nice change. A little harsher, but still pretty tasty.

Take it from a big drinker...

Johnnie Walker Black Label
Caol Ila
Stoli
I'd say Havana Club rum, but I'm not a big rum fan
Spend the rest on Beer, Wine, and Champagne

I bought a small bottle of Clear Creek Distillery kirschwasser tonight, prompted by the Steely Dan song "Babylon Sisters." Anyone drink kirschwasser before? I've read, depending on where you are in Germany, that you drink it ice cold or warm like any other brandy. What do YOU think?
