J.Crew Fall/Winter 2012 - Page 36

Once again, it seems like the promo code on 3rd party stuff eligibility was either a mistake or a one-day blitz. I put 2 Alden in the cart and was informed that they are excluded from the promo.

glad I pulled the trigger yesterday. Still waiting to see if my two pair will ship, hopefully they'll be on their way today.

No go for Barbour. I should have ordered yesterday.

you gotta know someone from J Crew reads this thread and just got kudos from their boss for finding out that the 3rd party goods were flowing through the sale.

sometimes I wonder if its better we didn't broadcast these glitches here.

Sport Jacket Question: Can anyone comment on the Abraham Moon tweed? Any info would be appreciated. I'm debating between the Harris Tweed in carbon or the Abraham Moon in brown herringbone. Any advice?
I have the latter. What kind of comment are you looking for?

Just wanted to know what the Moon tweed was like. Rough and thick like Harris?

I must be in the minority, but I just could not pull the trigger on the Indy's. I think they're beautiful but I just can't imagine them as everyday boots in the wet Seattle weather.

You didn't miss anything, Barbour was a no go last night, too.

Ebbets online and their shop in Seattle doesn't sell any of the twill adjustable caps that J. Crew and a couple of boutiques are starting to sell now. So I'm curious to see what this will be like. If you end up getting one, definitely get a fitted wool cap. As authentic as it gets. The 3 for $85 deal is always live and the best in my opinion, but they occasionally have 20% and sometimes 25% off sales as well.

To hoit1981: No, to me, it feels a bit softer. Harris Tweed does have a certain stiffness or sturdiness to it, I think, and I can find that a little off-putting. I like the feel of the Moon tweed a lot better. At the same time, it's not so soft that there is no structure--it is a well-constructed jacket.

Definitely a rip-off of S.N.S. Herning.

I wear my indy's in the rain regularly - they're great all weather boots (for the west coast, where no low temps)

Do the Indys/Aldens really run a half size big as the site says?  I am a 10 in McNairy, Red Wing, OSB.
