I think last F/W winter selection was much better! The navy fair isle last year was really nice and had some great colors, this year's fair isles are kinda boring. The Wallace and Barnes flannels last year were much better as well. The colors are too bright for F/W this year.

Yeah the new heavyweight flannels are a huge disappointment. I'm glad I picked some up last year.

is it moon or fox brothers?

It is in fact Moon, if you're talking about the wool blends. At least that's the case with the tweed sportcoats where they make the same type of reference.

Went in store today to look at the new items and try some stuff on. I am really disappointed with J. Crew. Their shirts are so inconsistent with fit and the store didn't have any of the sizes in the specific items I was looking at. I am hesitant to buy online cause of the fit inconsistencies and seeing that I live an hour away from the store its not easy for me to get there for returns. They probably hate seeing me when I go in cause I try on a bunch of things but don't buy anything. I wish they would carry some of the Wallace and Barnes collection in store.

Anyone feeling this?

It was at 160 then went off the site for like a week when I tried to buy. Now its at 200. I think I'm gonna pass. I can't believe these prices are gonna stay u

I really like cable-knit wool sweaters and shawl cardigans. It's a nice piece, and something I'd certainly buy, but not at $200. Hell, once you're at $250 - $300 you can get something really nice, like this or this. Berk's camelhair is amazing. Anyway, looking at other retailers and ebay I'm sure you could find something similar to the jcrew cardigan for half the price. Or less. Perhaps wait a bit; from time to time jcrew has 30% off, so then it'll be $140.

It was 159 on sale during the 30% off so pretty close to 110. Then they took it off the site and jacked the price up.
What's confusing me is it is called Donegal wool but is a wool/polyamide blend... is that normal?

I did just cop the wallace and barnes denim workshirt though

One of their recent catalogues hit my mail box a few weeks ago. I'm not a fan of their shirts, I prefer Brooks Brothers for that, I might pick up two pairs of 5 pocket cords in the slim straight fit which works well for my build. I'm really happy with the flat rate shipping and pre customs clearance, one less surprise for this Canuck. My only beef is Alden won't let J. Crew ship to Canada. I would be curious to see if Aldens get stocked in the new Eaton Centre Store in downtown Toronto.

I ordered a couple of items through my local store yesterday, and shipping was complementary (even though it's going straight to my place). Is this standard procedure, or was that just because I was above a certain threshold (spent $250)?

All orders ship free regardless of the final amount when they are placed via the red phone inside J. Crew stores.
