If you want the coat, have the money for it, just buy it.

There are items that I really like, and pay full price for them....no regrets. There are other items where I like them, but not crazy about them. For those items, I wait for the sales, if it's still around, I'll buy. If not, no worries either way.

If you need a coat, buy it now. Don't wait until half of it's use is over for the season. I waited on a sweater to hit sale last season and it sold out before I could get it. Then it did pop up in a size too big and I bought it anyways. Doesn't fit, don't wear it, still regret it.

Does this 25% off stack with the student discount??

Hmmmmm....

I believe the 25% off is also in-store, so you should be able to get an additional 15% student discount that way. If you buy something online you might still be able to get someone in-store to do a price adjustment if you bring your receipt in.

Call your store before you go. Mine didn't allow stacking.

They also explicitly state on the coupon that it excludes "In Good Company" ie collab items.

Ended up biting on a couple of items at the Liquor Store:

http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/WallaceBarnes/PRDOVR~93729/93729.jsp ($81 after 25% off)

http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/shirts/washedfavoriteshirts/PRDOVR~78151/78151.jsp (in blue)

I saw this jacket and think it's got great color and build:

Hoping it makes it to sale.

If you ask the store's stylist to be on their client list after showing your student ID, they can price adjust over email as well.

A code!  Now I need to decide whether to go for it or wait for a 30% off-er...

I know, it's only 5%.  But I'm a college student with limited funds and the items I want are just shoes, belts, and hats.  Nothing I can't wait for.

Are we almost positive there's going to be a 30% off coupon coming sometime in November?

You'll only be saving an extra $5 per $100 with a 30% discount. I'm as cheap as they come, but If it were me i'd just make the order so you enjoy the new stuff now. If you have a store close, you could make your order over the red phone and try to get them to honor the 15% student discount.

I stopped by a JCrew store yesterday and tried to stack a college discount on top of the 25% and they wouldn't let me do it. Also said the sale didn't include suits. I ended up grabbing a cashmere sweater off their website, but probably would have grabbed some other stuff with the extra 15%.

$5 is a week's worth of meals for me. bored.gif

You're right though, that's really not even worth waiting for.  I just realized that most of the stuff I want won't even be on sale, though (In Good Company items).

Anyone know if these same items will be excluded in the holidays coupon coming up?

Has seemed to be hit-or-miss in the past. Always worth an effort though, and with the right SA anything can happen.

Stopped by the Rockefeller location in NYC today, they wouldn't allow me to stack the student discount either...
