Budget suit - Page 2

Try finding a 100% wool suit at Burlington Coat Factory. Different locations have vastly different selections.

I suppose depending what the main purpose of the suit is, perhaps the OP is better off spending his budget on a navy blazer and pair it with his existing jeans/trousers/pants.

poly/rayon blend can make the suit appear somewhat shiny, not exactly popular with conservative offices.

OK, in general, Thank you to those of you who provided actual advice and suggestions. Worked out great. I went to 3dsb and got a suit to which the head tailor made a few adjustments and it fits great and I have had compliments.

Now, to those of you who feel you need to say insulting things, please don't. It lacks the class I would have expected as I genuinely requested advice.

We all have to start somewhere!

Got a Jack Victor half-canvassed suit for $170 last month (msrp ~$800).

If you're not constrained by time, you could wait around for a good deal/sale to pop up and try your luck then.

Bellyh,

Purpose is a job fair where I will assist Veterans in thier employment needs. The suit I purchased is black with very dark charcoal pinstripes. The tailor is adjusting the cuffs, seat bias and legs. I think this will be a great start. I have chosen a white shirt with a red tie. Thank you for your support!

I agree with what you say about everyone having to start somewhere.  But, believe me, the snark on this thread was remarkably muted!

Sounds like a very worthwhile job - good luck with that.

What size are you?

I have a lot of stuff that's unworn and high quality I may just give away (no suits I'm not using though but jackets) Polos, shirts, shoes etc

Also used and very lightly used things.

Send me your size in whatever you need in private message

Red might be a bit strong in contrast if you're wearing a suit that is almost black and a white shirt. If you still have time, go get a dark blue/grey tie to go with that combo. thumbs-up.gif
