BMW is about refinement and excellence. This is just a rear wheel drive V8 equipped sedan that doesn't look as terrible as the last one (the Pontiac GTO). I'd hardly call it a slayer.

It will slay BMW's buying incentives, rebates and 0% by the end of the first year of production.....and by the fourth year they will abandon it due to slow sales. I am happy to see the Solstice roadster is doing well, but GM has along way go to catch up to a BMW sports sedan in terms of overall balance and performance. I'll keep my M3, better performance with almost half the liter size.

Must be a really fast auto if it burns enough fuel to need four exhaust exits.

That interior looks like it was custom-designed for some blind University of Colorado or New Orleans Saints fan.

don't hate on the shit just because it isn't fucking fancy that isn't the goddamn point. shit isn't even supposed to look good. it's a fucking ugly beast that goes fast for cheap. and in that vein it is the shit. love it for what it is and does. it's the bastard child that is a prodigy. it came about under dubious means but has become better than those thoroughbred for the shit.

The Pontiac G8 is a rebadged Holden Commodore
that will be exported from Australia.

Have to agree there (well, not about being the best car of the 19909s though). The Evolution has some serious pedigree in the WRC and its prior incarnations, a field that BMW abandoned a long time ago.

Now as for the re badged Holden, we shall see. Everyone claims to have the next 3-series slayer yet no one (other than Nissan) has come close.

In terms of a manufacturer creating a new model that targets the same market as the 3-series, then yes, Nissan has come close with the Infiniti G35 (especially the 2007 models, which come with a power boost), but even that is just targeting the 33x's of the world. BMW has a pretty wide variety and range with the 3-series when it comes to body styles (coupe, sedan, wagon, convertible) and powertrains (engines: 3.0@230, 3.0TT@300, 3.2@333), transmissions: auto, manual, RWD, AWD). I don't think any manufacturer more closely aligns with the 3-series range than Audi with the A4 range (sedan, wagon, convertible; 2.0T@200, 3.2@255, 4.2@340, 4.2@420; auto, CVT, manual, FWD, AWD).

It isn't easy to great an entire brand within a brand such as the 3-series, and few have done it. This Pontiac is the furthest thing from a 3-series slayer.
