TAKE IT ON THE RUN

6 OCT 16

Every week, I post a top 10 of my favorite finds from the 450 auctions that go live. This week was really a challenge to pick 10, because there are so many rare and unusual pieces that went up - here are 10, but theres so many more that don't fit in the constraints of the top ten that are just as good, so have a look through!

1. Vintage Pierre Cardin Made in France Silk Pocket Square (one of many)

2. Sporty’s Pilot Shop Goatskin Flight Jacket

3. Brioni Silk / Cashmere Reversible Scarf

4. Levi’s x Filson Limited Edition of 140 Tincloth Trucker Jacket

5. Deadstock Fownes Pigskin Peccary Unlined Gloves

6. NWT Brunello Cucinelli Suede Moto Jacket

7. Maison Martin Margiela 5 Zip Leather Jacket

8. Vintage Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Made in France Alligator Belt

9. Vintage Brooks Brothers Tweed Double Breasted Coat

10. Hermes Paris Reversible Silk Wool Chain D’Ancre Scarf

File under an unexpectedly awesome benefit of having this store. These two kids came in, and said they read the book that I read, Red Paperclip. They wanted to trade something to work their way up to something dope, maybe like a pair of Yeezys (which I happened to have on and also on the shelf smile.gif ). So I traded them an Hermes tie for their Vineyard Vines tote bag. Kids like this make me so proud. I told them my Ferrari story and chatted with them for a little bit. They were so thankful to trade for an awesome piece. They just started and they said they started with a red paperclip and traded it for $4 and a bag of zeppoles from the local pizzeria. They had that, a broken VV tote bag, and their grandfathers old camera. I told them I would take the VV bag, but if they had the zeppoles I would prefer those! They said they ate them already but that was cool. We snapped this pic, they left and I went to dinner with my wife. When I came back to get my car from the store, there was a bag of zeppoles on it. Legit had a tear in my eye and I still have goosebumps writing this.

Note to self: rage-bidding 50% above your desired purchase point just to drive up the price on an asshole who nibble-bids is not a healthy way to live your life.

Especially since there's another 30 hours to go. This could get expensive.
