I grew up in Tucson, moved to Phoenix when I was in my early 30's.

My house is located in North Central Phoenix, near 7th Avenue and Glendale. However, I've worked all over the Valley and have spent a lot of time in Scottsdale both as a child and an adult.

haha - actually we're going to keep our house in Phoenix for now. My wife and kids have been living there for the past three years while I've been working in Sacramento and we like the neighborhood.

P.S. Foothills wasn't even around when I went to HS. I'm a Salpointe alum - Go Lancers!

I also grew up in Tucson (Amphi High alum) and would move back in an instant. Though I never appreciated Tucson while I lived there, I can understand the attraction of Arizona for you (beyond being re-united with your family).

I remember the post you made when you were mulling over the move. Hard to believe it's been 3 years... How often did you go back and forth?

I was back about once a month if not more. Plus, my wife and kids came to Sacramento for two of the summers, one of the Christmas holidays and one Spring Break. Plus I took a week off each year at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July. Amazingly I didn't miss any of my kid's birthdays during this past three years.

I gotta say, California state workers get a ton of time off. During the past three years I have taken nearly 4-months in vacation time - and they wonder why California is going broke icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Why all that time off? Can you please explain how they get away with the crap?

Ya... Damned government workers! There was a bit of an uproar up here when it was discovered that government workers take twice the amount of sick days as private sector. Then again, I'm private sector and have taken 8 weeks since last august and have another week off planned in a couple months icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
