On tonight's Top Gear, the sister car from the this Alfa-Maserati joint venture, the 2007 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione:

the nose resolves itself too late leaving it looking too long and pointy from the side. the grille almost makes up for this oversight if not for what one could imagine the grille could be if it composed 100% of it's horizontal portion of the nose. The wheels are sad. The roofline is great. the tailights remind me a bit of the chrysler 300c.

The alfa body looks ok but it has more wheel well gap than a Nissan Altima and that wheel style, after seeing tuners put them on every volkswagon and BMW, I don't believe they belong on this car. The wheels also look a bit small in the huge wheel well arches, although this may be correct with slight lowering.

Looks like Alfa's making a grab for their prewar roots as purveyor of elite exotic masterpieces, turning their back on their postwar heritage of mass-market masterpieces in a line stretching from the delectable GTV and Spider to the 147. I like the 8C. I think it's stunning. I would move to Europe just to buy one if it were in the spirit of Alfa's postwar heritage and fitted with a nice twincam four at a price around the Audi TT's.

It looks like someone grabbed an S2000 by the grill and blew it up like a balloon.
