I CAN'T Believe Buying Dress "Tailored" Dress Pants is This Difficult

I'm looking to buy about 3-4 pairs of dress slacks for my new job. I want to goto a department store or a national brand store so that I always know that this same fit/color will be available if I ruin any or they get worn out. All I want is a non-full cut / slightly trimmed/tailored 100% wool trouser.

So this leaves me to:

Brooks Brothers
JCrew
Banana Republic
Nordstroms

Brooks Brothers - Every store I have been to only has the full Madison cut. It is impossible to try on any slimmer cuts like the Regent because they never stock them.

JCrew - They only have the ludlow, nut-grabbing pants, never the Aldridge ones.

Banana Republic - They have classic cut, tailored cut, and tailored slim cut. And they have ONLY navy in the tailored cut. More importantly, they grab the nuts when you are seated.

Nordstroms - Sales guy said that the ONLY brand they carry that is slightly tailored is BOSS. So that leaves the James (which is still full), and the Sharp.

Looks like Boss Sharp is the only option, or I'd have to buy Regent Pants sight unseen, and hope they fit or I'll have to return them on the spot.

With most of those you are going to have to get them hemmed anyway, so just get your tailor to alter them to fit properly.

Yes - But I'd prefer to get one that doesn't need as many changes - as more could go wrong with getting the right fit and adding to the cost.

BB Milano is okay, not that slim.

Mabitex/Incotex are great, buy from the forums unless you are willing to spend a lot.

SF sponsors Howard Yount, Epaulet, and Panta all have what you're looking form at slightly different levels of finish and somewhat different, but all tailored fit.

By nut huggers I think you probably are looking for the one that has the largest rise measurement at your waist size.

All of these sellers are going to cost more than most of the stuff at the stores you're looking at, but they will all make a much superior product. I have pants from both HY and Panta and have not yet tired Epaulet, but I trust the reviews on SF.

That's good to know in the future, but I'm in need of some pants with a quick time horizon approaching, so need to stick to off-line/brick and mortar.

I don't see anything about a "classic slim fit." There's a Made in Italy line and a Made in USA line. I've tried both. See here for fit pics.

edit: Never mind. I see what you mean. All their pants are labeled that.
