Tank Top

How do you guys pull off tank tops ? Do you only wear them at the gym or as an under shirt?

I wear 'em in the summer when it gets ridiculously hot and humid, sometimes. Usually with slouchy, slightly loose jeans. Thin, cheap, short scarf if I'm going to be doing something that involves a lot of sweat (e.g. riding the bike around town) and need something to wipe the forehead, etc.

Having tits helps.

You've got to be pretty lean and muscular to wear a tank-top, IMO. or, as stated, have tits.

In my opinion, they're only appropriate as undershirts.

I don't think any man should ever wear a tank top or "wife beater" while in public... but that's just me.

I live in L.A. and it's pretty much the norm here specially in the summer. I'm in good shape + tits so, I have no problems wearing them.

I am actually in very good shape (not a meathead but tall and lean but still cut). I wanted to know how I could wear a tank top without looking like white trash. I have looked at American Apparel and they seem to have decent tank tops for guys.

With Berlutis, dare one ask?

This brings back memories. Years ago when living in Phoenix, I'd wear a minimalist tank top w/ jeans for an evening out at the local gay bars. The hot weather, gay bar scene and being in shape made it proper to wear a tank top. Now that I live in San Francisco area, it's a little too cold for such attire.

I think this is one of those East Coast white people things, like "thou shalt never wear sandals." It's not something I do often, but if it's 95 degrees outside with 90 percent humidity, maybe think about knocking down some of the walls in that small little room your poor East-Coast minds grew up in? It's basically a t-shirt that shows your shoulders. What are we, debutantes? Oh no! Someone will see my shoulders! Ain't nothing wrong with tank tops unless you've got a gut or are exceptionally hairy, IMO. It's hard to be stylish in one, but that's equally true of t-shirts, and pretty much all summer wear.

I'm one of these east coast kids you speak of and I actually live at the beach. Flip flops are the norm for me when I go to the beach or when I toss on shitty pants/shorts and a tee to make a food/beer run as they're easier to get on and off, but I can honestly say that no matter how hot it's been here the thought of wearing a tank top has never crossed my mind.

Honestly, I would never feel comfortable having my arm pit out there for everyone to see. Yea, it's a normal mans arm pit, every man has them, but that dosn't mean anyone else wants to see them. I'd go shirtless before I ever wore a tank top. I'm weird I guess.
