I will start this thread off with a post of my own that I tried to post in the thrifting thread but have been waiting a long time for moderator approval...
I realize this is my icon but I have very few photos of my self because one of two things happen 1. I make a weird face, or 2. I am wearing nothing I like. This is one rare coincidence where neither of those things happened. Although it is blurry I hope you can see the important parts (like the badass bike). When I was getting dressed that morning I had a couple things in mind like where I was going, (Berkeley) and who I was going with (my miscreant bunch of friends). Both of those factors point towards a casual outfit, but as any aspiring sartorialist I tried to go a step above what was required while still looking like I belonged. I hope I succeeded with my unintentionally Indiana-Jones-esque get up. anyway enough blabbering let me break it down for you...
leather (pleather) jacket: 3.50 or thereabouts a year ago at a local thrift store
nordstroms striped shirt classic fit(I tailored it and chopped the sleeves myself) 75 cents same location and day as the jacket
pants were j crew cargos urban slim fit that I used a seam ripper to cut the pockets off because they started ripping on their own, they cost me nothing because they were a gift
shoes are tretorn nylites I got for 20 at shoebacca.com (they are no longer that cheap)
sunglasses are lookmatic and pay design tribute to RayBan clubmasters at a steep discount, they retail for 64 but I got them for 32 because of a 50% off coupon from fab.com
the messenger bag is Levis and I don't know when or where I got it or at what cost In that moment I was more worried about my thrifitng score that lay inside (more on that if my posts ever go though moderator appoval)\
and finally the wonderful bike is regrettably not mine but it was fun to pose on
