Twitter is saying Minny has agreed to terms with Suter, and Pittsburgh is out on Parise.

Edit: Also lands Parise. Happy 4th of July, Minnesota.

I like Taylor Pyatt. Fast skate, disruptive, decent hands, and dreamy eyes. Tom Pyatt is the one who sucks.

Him and his dreamy eyes are gonna get so much hot Manhattan ass it's not even funny.

Good bye Parise. I hope he enjoys not making the playoffs while the Devils win another cup. I also hope Lou Lamoriello has something up his sleeve.

Especially when he drops the dead fiancee story on the ladies.

I know I'm supposed to always vehemently disagree with you by nature, but c'mon man...Devils are average at best, now without their best player, and a 42 year goalie...:embar:

Those are ridiculous contracts for Suter and Parise, in length and in dollars. I think Parise will at least come close to justifying his salary for a few years. Suter, I think, will go down as one of the bigger overpayments (in term and dollars) in recent memory. For a defenseman with not much in the way of offense or a first pass, this is crazy money.

Yet, with very few exceptions, we always manage to put together a very competitive team. It would have been great to get Parise back, but I don't think he's crucial to our future and success.

+1. God damn.

Jagr to Dallas is interesting as well.

I still don't really understand what Dallas is doing. They traded Ribeiro to the Caps and Ott to the Sabres which would seem to signify they are rebuilding, but then they added Derek Roy, Jagr, and Ray Whitney. The later two are ancient and on short deals, but unless there are other moves coming, it still doesn't seem like they can compete in the western conference while Jagr and Whitney are there.

At least I only had a Parise t-shirt, which was thrown in a donation bin on my way to watch fireworks on the 4th.
