trade away visnovsky, two years removed from a norris snub and then sign souray, one year removed from ahl banishment. throw 3.6 mil per year at a 36 year old for the next 3 years. what could possibly go wrong??

The Souray deal replaces the Wideman deal as most ridiculous of the offseason so far, but that may change when people give 10 years to Parise and Suter. Looks like Suter is going to Detroit, but without other moves that is still a downgrade from Lidstrom. I feel like Semin may end up there. There rumors that the Caps and Flyers are both trying to trade for Bobby Ryan.

tarajersey.com is where I got the jersey I wore to the winter classic for $45. I suppose some jersey stickler could pick out the difference but nobody has ever asked me if it was real. I only wear jerseys if I go to a game so I really didn't see the point in spending upwards of $200 for an authentic jersey. Went with Ovie since the chances of him leaving are slim.

Also funny aside, my buddy who is not so smart with these jersey things bought a Varlamov jersey after his playoff emergence year as a rookie. He immediately bought an authentic Varly jersey. Varlamov then proceeded to change his number, and was then traded. I will never let him live that down. Gotta buy the safe jersey of someone you know is sticking around!

Gort, did you get the Winter Classic jersey or just one of the regular home or aways that you wore to the Winter Classic? I haven't seen any knock off Winter Classic jerseys that were really noticeable, but some of the home red Caps knockoffs are pretty bad. The red is a darker shade than it should be, and the Weagle and the numbers are always a little off.

I got a winter classic caps jersey.

Carey Price, 6 years 6.5M per.

Lots of money but I think it's fair for both sides. The Habs lock up Price through his prime and with the cap going up it isn't bad. The numbers are high but people forget how young he is.

Honestly, I see the fact that he left his agent's office to go discuss his future with his family as very bad news for the Devils. His family is not going to care about any of the intangible things that make Jersey a draw for ZP (he likes living here, he is the captain, he's used to the guys and the system, etc.). They are going to tell him to either stay close to home or take the most money, and neither one of those figures well for the Devils. Also, we already know how JP Parise feels about Zach staying with the Devils.

flames signing hudler at 4years/4mil per and letting jokinen walk to sign for 2 years/4.5m per in winnipeg is laughably stupid. the flames now have zero centremen outside of matt ******* stajan of all people. jokinen played very well last year whereas i feel hudler benefited a lot from having filppula and zetterberg on his line. at first i was pretty happy to hear about hudler coming over but for all the costly forward depth calgary is getting, there is still no bonafide #1 centreman. stupid. not to mention there is very little rough and tough outside of glencross (lol) and jackman, who is now pretty expendable with everyone coming in.

resigning sarich, stempniak, comeau and letting jokinen walk = dumb. still gunning for that 8th spot..
