I think the first half will be much closer this time then it was on 05. Milan have lost a great deal of their key players in Shevcheno, Crespo and Stam. Having on really gained one good player in Ronaldo.

I think Ronaldo is cup-tied(?) Gilardino has not impressed since he arrived from Parma as Capocannoniere - I wouldn't be surprised to see Inzaghi start. Here's to an entertaining match!

p.s. You've got to admit the Italians look better arriving in their suits. Trackies(?) are fine if you're going out for warm-ups....

Shame about Ronaldo, maybe Liverpool aren't as used to the heat of Greece as the Italians are. Basically this match is gonna make my year or ruin it.

Call me crazy, but I'm taking the Reds. Milan were amazing in the second leg against United*, and I believe they have superior talent, but they also put on some pretty poor displays in Serie A this season. I suppose that's not a great argument, since Liverpool didn't dominate on a regular basis either, but what the hell...the pick's as much about what I want to happend as what I think will happen. *Although it must be said that United's amateur-hour defense had a lot to do with that...

im betting on Milan, they seem motivated enough. Gattuso cracks me up he is SO italian, in the positive sense anyway. Go Milan!!!

Two things:

How can Ronaldo be "cup-tied"? I thought that referred to playing for a nation team. He's been with Milan all season hasn't he? He didn't play and CL with RM this year did he? Or am I completely off my rocker on this one and don't remember the last 6 months (which could be).

1) Ronny arrived in the January transfer window. Cup-tied, as I understand it, refers to a player who plays a game in one of the cup competitions for one team, and then is later transfered to a team competing in the same competition. That player cannot play for his new team in that particular competition in which he participated w/ his previous team. I think Ronny played in some CL matches for Real in the fall.

2) You might want to not read this thread once the game begins...

Just checked - Ronaldo made several appearances for Real in the Group Stage last fall. He is ineligible to play, but can party afterward
