Champions League Last 16. - Page 13

Sensational winner by Rooney; I thought Milan were soundly outplayed, to be honest. Kaka's first was a fine goal, but his second was a gift courtesy of the aforementioned amateur-hour antics. Still, they've set themselves up nicely, and a decent showing at home could see them through.

Didn't see any of the match, but sounds Dida was having problems.
Extratime winner is always nice , but two away goals is worrisome....

Just got in now.It was an incredible atmosphere again and a fantastic game.In my opinion Milan are a very poor side,I was surprised at how poor they were.
Our second string defence gift wrapped 2 goals for Kaka yet we still managed to win.Even if Milan somehow find a way to beat us in the second leg I would put my mortgage on either Chelsea or Liverpool beating them.

Not a great scoreline but still hope there. Manu always score, just hope that they score more than the opposition

We should have a couple more defenders back for the away leg.

If there was a gift in the game in the game it was the the first goal "gift wrapped" by Dida. Milan looked no worse than ManU on the away leg against Roma.

When we played with 10 men for over an hour?
Utd had enough chances to come off the field with 5 or 6 goals. As I said earlier Milan may find a way to win because as we all know anything is possible in football, but I personally don't think they have the quality.
Take Kaka out of the team and I think they would struggle to make the top half of the Premiership.I was at Old Trafford 2 years ago when Milan went 1-0 up and gave us a lesson in how to keep the ball, but this team is well past its sell by date.
Lets not forget we were also playing our reserve defence last night, couple that with the fact that we are going for glory in 3 competitions whereas Milan have only got this and rested EIGHT players last weekend and will probably do again this weekend.

He plays on the left,
He plays on the riiiiight,
Our boy Ronaldo,
Made England look shite!

Milan did look pedestrian, Kaka notwithstanding.
Seedorf was lax in possession and Dida wore that deer-in-headlights look most of the time. His time is surely up.

The 2 away goals are a concern, but United have such a swagger about their play that I could see them win at San Siro too, albeit in a low scoring game.

Evra was United's biggest liability on the field during the game. Hopefully the yellow cards they have accummulated will not count them out of the final. I think it is 3 guys, with Evra's suspension, but could be wrong.

Milan without Kaka is a big if, how about Manu without Ronaldo or Rooney, especially last night. Certainly Man U has more quality but I think that Milan showed last night that they can play against ManU. I think it is 50/50 on the return leg.

Certainly our record in Italy is a big concern and would point to us struggling, but fingers crossed we can do it.

Although it is fair to say that a host of clubs would be in trouble without their best player, I believe ManU would be desperate without Ronaldo. His speed and ball control are frightening. I really feel the club would likely be outside the Premiership top four without him.

Clearly the board felt the same when they opened up the chequebook recently.

I also think it may be early for ManU supporters to feel comfortable with this win. Vidic will miss the return leg so the central defense does not improve greatly. If Kaka gets going it could be very tough for them.

But again, Kaka only got his second because of a colossal defensive blunder, and no one besides him seemed to pose any kind of attacking threat. United scored three against Milan's full strength defense despite the fact they weren't able to field their preferred formation (defensive shifts rippled up the field and meant Smith was benched).

Ronaldo had a poor game last night yet we still dominated proceedings so I don't really agree.Obviously we would miss him as he is the best player in the world but I don't think he is as pivotal as Kaka.

the biggest problem for man u is of course the two away goals that they carry with them to italy - sir alex wanted a clean sheet but with two away goals for milan, anything can happen

Okay, we're 15 minutes in, so this is cheating, but I'll take Liverpool. Chelsea has the superior talent, but has also looked a bit flat recently... Edit: Damn, Joe Cole scores off a nice cross from Drogba; I suck at predictions...

Liverpool's left side is playing poorly, intercepted backpasses and little forward thrust.

There have been rumours that Riise's time is almost up, and this will only add echoes to the mix. I hope he'll be retained, because he is dangerous, but Zenden, on this showing is welcome at PSV's Philipstadion next season.

Chelsea have been the better team, no doubt.
