I'm watching the women's time trials right now, seems pretty cool.

Although this girl just ate shit, so it added to my enjoyment.

I didn't think they were including the competitive shit-eating event this time around.

10,000 meter open water swim. Looks tiring.

Somewhat poetic that Canada scores in stoppage time to win the bronze medal after losing the way they did. I'm glad the women were able to pull out a medal in a performance that exceeded all expectations, even with the loss in the semis.

didn't it look like they were swimming in virulent diarrhea?? I don't think they were swimming in the Thames or anything like that, but couldn't they have found some cleaner water anywhere around...

I still haven't wrapped my mind around this. That's 6.2 miles of swimming. Holy hell.

Yeah when I checked in they had already been at it for close to 2 hours. I can't even imagine.

They should turn that event into goal-oriented bonanza, by kidnapping family members of competitors, and giving them only a certain amount of time to live before they're enveloped by the tide. It would make it heaps dramatic, and NBC would be able to cover more inspiring stories.

Hmmm -- when I was in university (admittedly very, very long ago) that sport was rife with dykes.

And this is a problem how?

My preference is the track body, but the hockey girls radiate athleticism without being overdone. And it seems to be a cute sport with those little sticks.

Not sure how to characterize the problem other than that it meant I slept with the basketball players. smile.gif
