Hair Issues

I could really use some help with my hair. My scalp is extremely dry, as is my hair. It is also very thick/coarse, has a lot of split ends, and frizzes like you would not believe. 10 minutes after I take a shower, my hair is poofing out everywhere. It is relatively short because I fear growing it out with how dry/frizzy it gets.

Can anyone recommend a routine and or products to help me get this under control? I've tried the basics like head & shoulders, etc.... but they don't do anything.

Your hair issues may begin with the shampoos you have tried, that may contain sulfates, that strip your hair and scalp.  You may want to try Ultra Shampoo by Coldlabel.  This is a brand made by a barber.  The other products such as natural pomade, may be beneficial to you also.  coldlabel.co is the site.

Maybe try some moisturizing shampoo & conditioner. I have really thick hair and it gets dry and frizzy a lot. I use Aveda Dry Remedy shampoo and conditioner and it works. Occasional deep conditioning treatments help too. Good luck!

You might try a diet change for a few weeks to see if that helps. My hair went from being somewhat dry to being moist after avoiding wheat. Along with other benefits seen, seems I have a sensitivity to that grain.

It isn't on dry hair, but recall this testimonial about someone mentioning their hair stopped falling out once they stopped eating wheat.

"You're lucky that your hair is falling out: You'll save money at the beauty salon!"

I'd look at a wax/pomade sort of product.

SumoTech (expensive)
American Crew
Dax etc. etc.

I have very dry, frizzy, straight hair, these sorts of products work for me.

It does, of course, also depend on what you are trying to do style wise.

And you might consider washing it a little less often as well. Many days I just let the hot water from the shower beat down on my head - but apply no shampoo. This removes the loose dirt and some oil - but not all.

How often does the OP shampoo?

About 3 times a week. I got some expensive moisturising shampoo and conditioner from Joico, that has yet to do anything.
