i find mac products are going to shit from a long-term quality perspective. I am seriously considering a windows 8 computer next after 20 years of macs

feel free to disagree but my IT vendor would disagree with you. I have my pro, my retina and my air in the shop as we speak.

My experience has been close to Kunk's. That said, so long as Apple holds the hardware design edge (light weight, screens, design, etc.) I'll still probably end up choosing them.

weird. I haven't had any troubles, nor have my family (probably 10+ Macs between all of us over the years). The worst I had was my original Macbook's battery died after about 3.5 years of use. And it slowly but eventually bit the dust after I spilled wine all over the keyboard.



I imagine Kunk's faulty retina fall under warranty, which is nice.

My tally - had to replace my iP4s 3 times. My MBA once. One iMac had to be lemon law'ed. Another's been back once. Already had to exchange my iP5. Had a Macbook (old white model) that had to be repaired 4 times.
