Maybe you and I define bottom differently, but I'm pretty sure that the bottom is the side without the fuse, no?

That's what I would think...the part you should have stuck in the ground or a 5 gal bucket of sand.

I used to hold Roman candles all the time as a kid, never thought of doing it any other way. I think we only had one that started shooting out through the side. It set some ornamental grasses on fire icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

We also had a 6" mortar blow up in the tube, a giant concussive rocket explode ~20 feet off the ground instead of 500 ft, numerous firecrackers go off in our hands (we used to throw them). No injuries to speak of, minor burns aside.

I'm constantly amazed that I didn't get injured more as a kid. Did lots of dumb stuff.

And nowadays your parents would probably get the cops called on them for child endangerment or something.

Also lol at almost having a firework go off two inches from my face while I was trying to light another. Matchbox instead of lighter was a huge fail.

It must be my week, one way and another:
This boiling afternoon a rather fetching young popsy in my class sat on the front row. She was wearing a short denim skirt and legs open to display her moist (I liked to think) jewel. She sat like this for over half an hour. Unfortunately I couldn't get a photo.

I walked out of Hickey Freeman on Market Street, and practically walked into Nick from Jack/Knife Outfitters, who was walking along with what appeared to be his parents and sister. Just as I was about to say hello, a guy walked out of a 7-11 into the middle of our little group, with a finger so deep into his nostril that he appeared to be trying to scratch his frontal lobes, and asked us for directions without missing a wiggle of his digit.
